I feel like an absolutely horrible person. As soon as I read the name of this thread, I immediately went over to VMK.com to read it for myself before getting the vibe of what others were saying.
As soon as I read that WDW-VMK was going the way of the DoDo, I snickered. I felt vindicated. I felt that, for once, VMK did something fair.
The reason why they had Quests at both DLR and WDW was because they are on two different coasts. There is one Disney park that people can get to easier than the other. That's just how it works.
I have a DLR AP. In a month and a half, I will be able to go whenever I please (unless I have my Intro to Oceanography Discussion). I am a DLR person through and through.
Do I want to go to WDW? You bet your butt I do! Is it easy? Hades no!
When they announced that DLR-VMK was packing up without a reason, I felt betrayed. It told me that VMK was truly looking at it as though VMK was a Virtual WDW Magic Kingdom. For a long time, I had a sneaking suspicion that VMK was treating WDW better (the Thrillseeker's Quest comes to mind). I had been to DLR twice in two months, and nothing had changed with regards to the Quests (still only two quests). I knew it then that DLR-VMK was dying. Yet, they kept giving out stuff at WDW-VMK. It didn't seem fair to us West-Coasties.
Now I read for my own eyes, that everyone is now on an equal playing field. MK and DL are now equally bereft of quests.
I feel sorry for you WDW-ers, just as you felt sorry for us in our time of need.
But you must admit that this is fair.
I know I made no friends by this post, but at the very least, consider the DLR-ers. Consider our despair when DLR-VMK closed up shop. You've had four more months (add a few more months with regards to the "quests" that we had at DLR) to enjoy filling out quests and getting that Red Space Suit and AK Room. When the DLR-ers were told, we got less than a month to go out and get... the HSM room, Animated Quest, and Pirate Quest?
WDW-ers should consider themselves lucky.
But as to whether or not VMK is dying, I will refrain from speaking. Those that have listened to how I have tooted my horn for the entirety of this summer will know my opinion on the matter.
