I have a TON of baby/kids clothes and I wondered if this sounded reasonable:

25 cents for each T-shirt/onesie
50 cents for pants or nicer shirts
$1 for outfits and pajamas

...?

Thanks!

Yes, that sounds very reasonable. If your stuff is in decent shape and presented well, as in being easy to look at and not piled into bins or garbage bags so people have to sift through it to see what you have, it should sell quickly. Good luck with your sale.

We had a yard sale last weekend. I priced all my dd's clothes at $1.00 per piece and buy 5 get 1 free. 2 piece outfits were $2 - counted each item as 1 piece. The only exceptions were winter jackets and holiday dresses ($4 each). I sold quite a bit of stuff - more than I expected. I did not have any really small items, like onsies.

I had a yard sale last weekend too! I had girls clothes newborn through 4T. I sold everything for $1 per piece. Coats and Christmas dresses were more $2-$3. If someone bought alot I would sell it for a set price - say $20 depending on how much they had. One person had 42 pieces and I sold it to them for $20. As the day went on and I wanted to get rid of stuff I sold it for less. Everyone thought it was a good deal and I made $500. I sold a few other items such as swing, and highchair but the most part was clothes. I think the price all depends on how much money you want to make versus how bad you want to get rid of things.

Thanks! I love the idea of $1 for an item of clothing, and 1 item free with a $5 purchase.

We have a TON of clothes, some toys and books, a highchair, exersaucer, 2 strollers, a "Snuggle Nest", a Graco car seat with base, a Pottery Barn Kids crib bumper, an adorable mobile...so LOTS of stuff (mostly baby and kid related but not all). This is part of a town-wide yard sale which is benefiting our local environmental group. We only had to pay $10 to participate and they are doing publicity and putting out a map and list with all of the homes who are selling.

DS will also be selling the ubiquitous lemonade and cookies. I think he will clean up!

I would be happy with whatever we make, and I will donate most of the rest of the clothing which doesn't sell but try to Craig's List the nicer name brand stuff. Will let you all know how it goes. :cool2:

I think it depends on the brand of clothing. I had a yard sale last weekend. My kids wear a lot of brand stuff - Old Navy, Gap, Gymboree, Land's End, Ralph Lauren, etc. Granted I've bought it cheap at the end of the season for the following year but I take care of their clothes and a lot of them look brand new. For the brand t-shirts I marked $1 each. Long-sleeve brand shirts were $2 each. Ditto for shorts. Brand pants were $3 each. Brands sold at Kohl's or Target that my kids wear were marked cheaper - $.50 for shirts, $1 for pants. Most clothing sets were $3. PJ sets were $1.50 each. The stuff that was new and had tags that they never wore was marked higher but still reasonable. I was not selling a $37.50 Ralph Lauren shirt for $1. I didn't have much stuff from my daughter since I'm passing on her clothes to my niece who is a year younger. Most of the stuff belonged to DS. If they bought a lot, I usually knocked a few bucks off the total. Like they were getting a few things free.

Hope this helps.

I usually do $1 a piece or stuff a grocery/Target bag full for $8. {People love this!

That's actually really low for around here!

Plain onesies run .10-.15
embellished onesies run .50-1.00
tops are .75-1.50 (again depending on how detailed they are)
jeans .75-2.00
play pants/shorts .75-1.25

When I price my stuff, I look at the item, figure out what I'd be willing to pay, then add $0.25.

If you don't sell the highchair, strollers, etc. through the yard sale or Craigslist, you might want to check Once Upon a Child if there is one near you. Mine pays 50% of what they sell it for on items like this. They gave me $20 for my stroller. They don't take car seats though. Good luck!

Your prices sound very reasonable. You are providing a great service and getting a little something in return.
