Mets fan here!
I love Yanks-Red Sox. There is no better rivalry in baseball. I enjoy these games because I love baseball, and these games are usually baseball at it's best.
Sure, Missy. I know why you're watching the Yanks

What do you think of Al Leiter in the YES booth? I think he's great. He's such an intelligent, affable guy. Did you hear him last night talking about how he was hurt when the Mets' fans booed him when he came back in a Marlins uniform? I didn't realize that had been the case. I can't imagine any Mets' fans booing Al Leiter, but I guess there's some losers in every fan base

I loved the sign last night at Fenway that said something like Damon You are an Idiot!
Did you see the banner sign (it actually looked professionally done) that said Judas Damon with the O in Damon being the interlocking NY symbol with a line through it? I have to admit that was clever.

According to the announcers during the game, the Yankees signed Mike Meyers just to pitch to Ortiz! Didn't work out so well in game 1 of 19.
Certainly Ortiz was a consideration in getting Myers but, in truth, the Yankees have needed a LOOGY for several seasons now. I hope Yankees' fans don't give Myers a real hard time just because he couldn't get Ortiz out the first time he faced him. It's a long season and he's still getting used to being a Yankee. I have high hopes for him from his other April game appearances. Then again, neither Yankees' or Red Sox' fans have a lot of patience with these kinds of things.

The guys on ESPN said that the Spankees tried to lift Mirabelli from the Sox, not because they wanted or need him, but just so the Sox wouldn't have him for Wake.

Evidently Mirabelli wasn't having it.
Actually, the Yanks tried to trade for him from the PADRES, but yes, to keep him from catching Wakefield. Mirabelli wanted out of SD after they got Piazza and he realized he wouldn't be catching much at all. He wouldn't have had much of a say in the matter of where he'd be going, although he certainly was happy to return to Boston.
You have to admit that it was funny to see an ovation for keeping a pitch in the dirt in front of him!

Also, he didn't come to the stadium in any car but an actual police car because the Sox absolutely HAD to have him at Fenway in time for the 7:00 p.m. start! Only in the Yanks/Red Sox rivalry could a catcher who's batting less than .200 become such an important pawn. You've got to love it!
GO YANKEES!
