I really have not experienced that much Japanese Cuisine, but are always open to new things. Instead of dropping a bunch of money at Teppanyaki, I figure I could try a cheaper version.

I walked in to the Yakitori House to see what everyone was enjoying on my Xmas trip (it was loaded), everyone looked like they were really enjoying it. Thanks

I really like the chicken. It is served on a stick, and I get it with white rice. It has the Japanese taste that I like, without the vegetables that I don't like!!

We have been there several times and do enjoy it!

Good luck and have fun!

ugh - never again.
I used to LOVE the chicken teriyaki (or the Yakatori chicken as they call it) served on a stick with white rice. DH and I ALWAYS stopped here at least once for lunch.

however, last time it was truely nasty. All greasy dark meat - I couldn't even finish half mine it was so gross.

I had bad experiences with counter service in a lot of the countries at Epcot on our last trip - I eat mostly chicken - and everywhere i went the chicken was gross and nasty (all dark meat).

Hopefully this changes - I really used to like the Yakatori house!

Our family went in Nov and I enjoyed it. I'm the only Japanese food fan in my family so they sacrificed. We all enjoyed the tempura meats, although the portions were very small! The rice was good as was the chestnut cake. I couldn't stomach the soy beans and I like veggies. I really went for the Tokyo rolls which were really good and reminded me of my trip to Asia a few years back. I'd encourage you to try it. I didn't think it was too overpriced. Next time I'll get the Tokyo rolls to go so I don't have to drag my family in!!

We had awful food here in December. It is the only really bad food we have ever gotten at WDW. Everything was greasy and cold. There were no seats and we ate outside and that made the cold food even colder. I say skip it.

We LOVE to eat here, especially the udon noodle soup! I find the teriyaki a bit sweet but enjoy the shrimp and the tempura.

The Yakitori House food is good. But the Teppanyaki food is wonderful. We'll go to the Yakitori if we want a quick meal. But I prefer Teppanyaki.

We hated it. My friend who just got back hated it. Never again!

Teppanyaki is great, but we didn't care for Yakitori. It's one of the few Disney restaurants on our "no return" list. Most of us got a combination plate that had the chicken skewers (good), rice and a pile of minced mystery meat. I think it was supposed to be beef. My dh left food on his plate -- this never happens!

I call this place "Yuckitori".

After having the greasy Shogun plate once I never went back. I prefer the Matsu No Ma Lounge for a quick, light meal.

We liked Yakitori House quite a bit. It is great for a light supper stop. It leaves room for a Kaki Gori on the way out or some sweets from any number of places around the World Showcase! Be adventursome and give it a try!

A definite yes! In all the times we've been around the World Showcase the last trip is the first that we discovered the Yakitori House. Very peaceful setting, (especially for counter service), and when we ate lunch there we encountered a very friendly staff and good, hot, fresh food. I am NOT the biggest fan of Oriental food, whether Japanese or Chinese but this is a place that I would return to.

we tried the kids meal here on one of our "epcot sampling" meals and wouldn't go back...frozen cubed mixed veggies (like birdseye peas, carrot, corn, limas) a little skewer of ok chicken which I think was brown due to the soy sauce marinade and a small scoop of rice with a"teriyaki" sauce that tasted mostly like kikkoman , definitly not "good " japanese. maybe another item on the menu would have been better but we just wanted something small.

Worst meal I have ever had at WDW... actually threw it out (and I never throw out food!).

DH and I enjoyed the shogun combination on our visit a couple of years ago so we headed there this past September for lunch. Never again. DH waited in the queue for about 20 mins - i call it a queue, there was only 2 people in front of him. When we finally got the meal it was really horrible - i thought the chicken and beef were really tough and grisly and hated those horrible cold bean things that came on the plate too.

We enjoy Yakitori and find it reasonably priced. The food is not the greatest but the udon soup and tempura are very good. It's a nice change of pace for us when we dine here.
