Yak and Yeti--try it or not?

My favorite 1 TS restaurant. 2009 and 2010 visits were great. Love the seared ahi tuna, thai chili wings, malaysian seafood curry, and the fried wontons dessert. I could never come to Animal Kingdom Park again without eating at Yak and Yeti.

My Dec. 2010 Review of Yak and Yeti

Firm no! Worst meal of our trip so far:(. We are not picky eaters, but the food had no flavor. I had the cripsy magi magi and it was so dry! The sauce was enough for the whole fish. DH thought is steak and shrimp kabobs were ok? Just not good.
Drinks the bloody Mary and yak attack were both delicious!
I really wanted to like it too :(

It was ok, but definetely not a wow factor. I liked my entrée, I had the fried shrimp with the skirt steak. It was good. My fiancée did not like it. He had the ribs and did not like the sauce or the actual flavor of the ribs. My dish was definitely better. It's not horrible, but it's safe to say that we won't be dining there again.

Yak and Yeti is one of our favorite table service restaurants. :goodvibes
I always get the salmon and it is really good. My only gripe is they got rid of the brownie sundae for two. That was amazing!
We will definitely be enjoying Yak and Yeti in August.

Always a must do for our family!! Love, lovel, love it! Have ressies made for our upcoming trip. :woohoo:

it was very good the one time we went there....one of our faves! BTW,you can't always know ahead of time what you'll like....what one person likes, you may not and vice versa!:thumbsup2

If you like Ribs, you MUST go to Yak and Yeti. You're doing yourself a disservice if you don't.

We went on our last trip and everyone in our group enjoyed it. I split the Dim Sum basket for 2 with my kids, and my husband got the sweet and sour chicken. We all enjoyed it and had more than enough food. We had 3 other adults with us and I don't remember what they got but do remember they liked it.

We love Yak and Yeti. Eight times out of ten, the food is excellent. BUT... There have been a few times when the food was eh... , and we all usually order the same dish every time we go, so I chalk it up to a bad day. The CS is good too!

My family really likes Yak and Yeti. We have been 4 times and enjoyed every meal. I prefer the appetizers to the main dishes, so that is what I order (we don't do the dining plan, so I can do that!) The decor is great and we have had great servers as well. It is also fairly easy to get in without an ADR.

We love Yak & Yeti! My dh had the shirmp and steak skewers, I had the ribs and my ds had the honey chicken, we all loved the food!

Yummy! :goodvibes

Of all the TS meals we planned for our last trip, we were expecting Yak and Yeti to be our least favorite. My husband glanced at the menu online and thought there wouldn't be anything he'd enjoy.

It turned out to be one of the BEST dining experiences of the whole trip. Part of it was luck: We were seated at a nice quiet table upstairs by the window, and we had a great server who knew the menu and was able to steer us towards entrees we would like. My husband had the duck, and I had the MalAsian seafood curry. Both were excellent. The fried wontons for dessert were especially good.

Yak and Yeti is worth trying at least once!

We had previously had a tasty CS lunch there, so were really looking forward to TS last November. I had $100 gift card from a rewards program, would not have been thrilled to pay so much for so-so food.

My specialty drink was very lacking in alcohol. The Dum Sum basket we shared was bland. DH's curry dish had no hint of curry or heat. My bourbon chicken was sickeningly sweet.

We love all kinds of Asian food, but this just didn't do it for us.

We decided to try it during Free Dining in December and we loved it! We were in AK on a beautiful Sunday that quickly turned rainy with wind blowing and stopped in right at lunch to see if perhaps they had a table. No problem! So if you want to try it and don't have an ADR give it a whirl. Everything was very tasty with good-sized portions. We wouldn't have needed dessert but with the dining plan....we had to try the wontons:thumbsup2. I opted for the sherbert trio--very refreshing and light!

We were really disappointed in the CS last year, we all thought the food was salty and not very good. I'm considering the TS this year though, glad to hear so many like it.

We really enjoyed the location, atmosphere and most of the food. I recommend staying away from the chicken with the exception of the minced chicken wrap appetizer (uber yummy). I warned my sisters that I had read this on the DIS but they didn't listen to me. Let's just say they ended up regretting that decision! :lmao:

The skirt steak with shrimp is yummy, as is the fried wonton dessert.

I went to Yak and Yeti for the first time last year, and it was amazing. I really want to go back and taste other things from the menu. My family and I got this very delicious chicken wings for app and it was very delicious. Everyone was satisfied with their meals. It was a lot of food, we got so stuffed we didn't order dessert. I tried this very fabulous drink that is just Sprite with a strawberry syrup, and it was great for a hot day.

The TS is not always full, it was a walk on when we went. I think it depends on the hour. We probably waited for about 20 minutes until our table was called.
