Yak and Yeti Menu Available

Well- it's better than the original thoughts we saw which turned out just to be the counter service, I'll give it that. Unfortunately for every one person in Disney who wants authentic foods, there are 20 yahoos who will complain that it is too hard for their picky eaters to eat there. Hence, Disney dumbs it down again.

I think the menu looks good, though it's really too expensive for us. Maybe the CS menu will be more in line with my budget.

Very true. I don't go to Disney for the food. But most of this list that they released earlier has TS menu items:
Steamed Mussels, Egg Rolls, Chicken Fried Rice, Pot Stickers, Crispy Honey Chicken, Sweet & Sour Pork, Kong Pau Beef, Shrimp Lo Mein, Maple Tamarind Chicken, Mandarin Chicken Salad, Baby Back Ribs, Duck, and Cream Cheese Wontons with Grilled Pineapple.
So it looks like we can expect only a few of these on the CS menu.

I was hoping that AK would be able to have more vegetarian offerings with the opening of this restaurant, as the park is sorely lacking. We'll see what counter service offers, but I'm not holding my breath.

They have Pho! hazzah!
I don't care if it's $17.99 for a bowl, they simply have it and that makes me happy.

I'll second that. After nearly a week of eating on the plan, a hot, steaming bowl of Pho for lunch with the lettuce wrap appetizer will be exactly what I need. The rest of the menu is a little disappointing (no Pad Thai ) but with the number of items on most WDW eatery menus and the need to accommodate those with less adventurous tastes, I'm happy to have the little bit of variety they're offering.

Very disappointing to me. Why no vegetarian entree?

I suppose one could order something on the menu without meat but why no special choice?

AK continues to disappoint in terms of being veggie friendly.

A nice Tofu Pad Thai would have been nice, or a chickpea curry. I guess you can order the lo mein without meat; the sauce could easily be vegetarian. But some protein is good, too. :rotfl:

So many of you like Pho. How is it pronounced, please?

I'm so happy to see the Y&Y menu and SUPER happy that they are finally opening and just in time for our upcoming trip.

I'm hoping we can slip it into our dining plans. If nothing else, I hope to visit the gift shop for some neat stuff to bring home.

I thought the menu looked very interesting. I am looking forward to hearing reviews on it. I hope it is good because it will be nice having a TS to chose at AK that is on the DDP.

Reviews? It's already been open for a couple hours. I'm sure someone wolfed down their food there, then thought of all their dear, sweet friends on the DIS boards, and are currently racing to a computer to give us a review. C'mon, where is it?

I'm unable to find the difference between the lunch and dinner menus.

:confused3

I understood they were going to have sushi. Most of the dishes are generic chinese. I agree with the other poster about dumbing the menu down for the masses. I don't consider pad thai to be exotic, and they don't have that either. I figured sushi would be great for a hot park like AK. Something nice and refreshing that wouldn't weigh you down.

I guess I'm spoiled, maybe I'm surrounded by too many good Indian and Thai restaurants (but that's not possible, is it?) because the Y&Y menu is really disappointing.
Too bad, I think we'll skip it.

The menu didn't do much for me either. :( DH and I love Indian food (one of our best friends is Indian) and we were hoping for some Samosas and veggies. All I see is more Chinese, although I find the food at Nine Dragons far superior to all of our local "dumbed down" Chinese establishments. We also love Korean, which is also not represented anywhere. Younger DD loves all Asian food, and was so disappointed at the horrible Noodle Station at MK, so I'm very hesitant to try this place unfortunately. Hopefully a lot of positive reviews will be forthcoming!

Must admit, I too am disappointed with the Y&Y menu, but menus change over the first few months, so we'll see. As of now, we prob. won't be looking to book an ADR for our Sept. '08 trip. I was so hoping for a really nice sitdown rest. at AK, something they are greatly lacking. How bout Tusker House, I hear that will become a TS restaurant with a buffet, any word on their menu?

The menu does look tasty and I will definitely try it for a TS at AK next time we go.

However, I agree with a few of the previous posters...

It's in Asia for crying out loud! Where's the Indian food??!!:confused3
