Yesterday I had my 18.5 year old cat Poppy put to sleep
For the past month or so, we'd been struggling to get a number of old age related illnesses under control and despite being a feisty little lady, nothing appeared to be working and it seemed kinder to let her go than continue putting her under more stress for something that wasn't working.
I'd had her since she was 2, and she'd been my constant companion through multiple house moves and surviving a lot longer than any of my relationships! Living on my own, she was always there and my house seems so much emptier without her here
it's crazy how much of a routine you get into with a pet and how different it is when you no longer have that.
Love my little lady, glad you're no longer suffering and so grateful for all of the years we've spent together
