If your decision is going to be based on it being a 1TS on the DDP then go with Le'Cellier. However, if you don't mind using two 2TS or are paying OOP, I would absolutely go with Yachtsman.

I personally think that Le'Cellier is so over- hyped and over-sensationalized. As it's been stated many times on other forums, if it were not such a comfort food and a 1TS restaurant, I doubt it would be that popular. If the rumors are true and Le'Cellier becomes a signature restaurant next year, I doubt it's going to be all that popular. Le'Cellier is a good restaurant, but in my opinion is far from a great restaurant.

I am one of those who voted for Le Cellier. My dining experience for the two locations has been Le Cellier a number of times and Yatchman once. We went there with with high expectations from the positive reviews we had heard but for me it did not live up to those reviews. The first steak I received - a new york strip - was bad enough for me to send back. I requested the filet instead. Was it better - yes. Was it better than Le Cellier - no. Was it better than Outback at twice the price - no.

On one of the podcasts I listen to the commentators were discussing Yatchman. They gave it high marks for quality - when the quality was there. Unfortunately it missed the mark often enough for them to have some trepidation in recommending it fully, expecially at the price point disney charges for dining there. Just my one visit gives me second thoughts on returning - being in a situation where you may be paying around $150 for three persons to eat dinner gives one pause when your previous experience was not up to what you expected. I'm not a "foodie" here , just someone trying to habe a nice meal on vacation. Le Celleir has provided those to my family and I, and Yatchman has fallen short of that mark.

I've been to both. My experience was so bad with Yachtsman last December that I complained and was refunded the DxDP credits by Disney. I had: a 45 minute wait past my reservation time (ADR was 8:30--I left the place finally at 11pm), a steak cooked improperly, and a server who was more concerned about her friends at the table next to mine. People have said I sould have sent my steak back. . .how many of you would send your steak back at 10:30pm? I probably should have complained while I was at the restaurant, but I had been traveling that day--had been up since 3am--and I just wanted to go back to bed. I may try Yachtsman again--just not any time soon.

trust me Walt himself is glad that you are drinking the Disney kool-aid and willing to pay top dollar for a subpar steak simply because it is in WDW. :rotfl2: Everyone here raves about LC because they think it is such a "great value" on the DDP. Would you still think it is a great value if you walked into your local Outback Steakhouse and the price was jacked up 150% and they said your waiter was from Canada?

Sure I have eaten at many WDW establishments but in no way am I fooling myself in believing it is gourmet or fine dining. :rolleyes1 We eat at TS restaurants because we want to be served by a waiter, have cocktails brought to us, etc.

I never once indicated that LC is gourmet or fine dining! My thoughts are that if you don't enjoy it, don't eat there! More chance of getting ADR's for me! I have had some bad meals at WDW but don't criticize others who want to eat there. :sad2:

I've been to Morton's, as well as other highly looked upon steak houses, and I believe that Le Cellier is on-par with them all. I get the NY strip with the butter sauce and mashed potatoes and it is really delicious. I have also had the filet, and yes it too is good. I haven't yet tried Yachtsman, but Le Cellier is legit regardless, it's not just hyped up. Both can be pricey, though Le Cellier can be reasonable for lunch if you get a special or sandwich.

Le Cellier is a perfectly fine restaurant (although not deserving of the hype it gets on these boards). I have generally assumed that people that go wild over Le Cellier simply have not been to high end steakhouses (such as Morton's, Shula's, Ruth's Chris, etc.) and, thus, don't have a valid basis for comparison. IMO, Le Cellier is not even close in terms of quality of food, service and ambience to any such steakhouse.

guess i cant vote because every time we go we go to both places we love them both.

Not true!! :sad2:

We love Le Cellier, but we really really love Yachtsman! We can't wait to go back next month.

In our experience, Yachtsman has better food, better ambience, and better service. Other than that, Le Celier was nice.

Ok thanks everybody! I would have rather gone to Yachtsman based on the votes but my family voted for Le Cellier, so that's where we're going. Both seemed very good though. So I'm not mad!
