Yacht Club walk to Epcot

Hi

Could anyone give an estimate as to how long it takes to walk from the Yacht club to Epcot? (to make it simple and relatively precise, let's say the "starting point" for the walk is the Yacht Club lobby) According to many maps I have seen, they are supposedly quite close to each other. I've never stayed at or visited one of the Epcot hotels so I don't really have a picture in my mind though of the actual distance.

I know there's a walkway between YC and Epcot but there's also a walkway from the Polynesian to the TTC and that can be a bit of a long walk (depending on where you start, of course). So i was just wondering if anyone had a "ballpark" figure for the Yacht Club to Epcot AND Yacht Club to MGM walk.

It will take you between 5-10 minutes depending on how fast you walk from YC to Epcot. It can be a nice leisurely stroll... To walk from YC to MGM on the other hand is quite the hike. If you like to walk it is a nice walking path along the lake, but it would take about 20-30 minutes.

You can also take the boat from the Yacht Club Marina over to Epcot or MGM, if you do not want to walk

5-10 minutes isn't bad at all. I'm a pretty fast walker most of the time so I'll prob get there on the earlier side, unless I consciously let myself just stroll by and take in the scenery.

MGM's walk is a bit much though, so thanks for letting me know about that too. I think the Epcot walk would be fun for me but I wouldnt' be into the MGM one so i can just take other transportation.

Seriously though, the MGM walk isn't all that bad!! We have done it twice, And actually.. last yr, we beat the boat back! The boat line at the end of the MGM day is CRAZY.. And we just started to walk, not fast, not slow.. and before we knew it, we were back, it really is a beautiful walk..And nice and flat, no hills. And it is all along the water too. (Believe me, i am NOT in shape, and had no problem with this walk.) We will definately be doing it again this yr.

WE ARE just BACK FROM THE Beach club..took 5-7 mins AT MOST.....VERY SHORT walk.....I personally wouldnt do the MGM walk , its more like 20+ mins ( we opted to talk the boat instead) you will do PLENTY of walking wyen IN the parks, better to save ENERGY@@
also walk to swan/dolphin or boardwalk is VERY SHORT....

I have to disagree, if you can walk from the Lobby of the Yacht Club to Epcot on 5 mins. you are doing some fast walking. Maybe from the Beach Club lobby but not the Yacht club. It will take at least 5 mins to get on the other side of the pool area from the Yacht Club.

I would say 15 minutes, without running.

I agree that the walk from MGM is not that bad. When we left MGM after Fantasmic, there was a huge line for the boat back to BC. We walked instead and I would guess that it took about 15 minutes. We did make it back before the boat, so considering the line it was much quicker than waiting.

sorry we stayed at the BEACH CLUB, not yacht club .....for us it was def less then 10 mins from the BEACH CLUB , IT was just hubby & i too.....

Well under 10 minutes and I have the proof from Caskbill's reports:

Walking 2.5 miles an hour from BWV (which is further) in 9 minutes.

The path from the Boardwalk Villas to the entrance to Epcot at the International gateway.

We orginally started measuring this walk from the ground level at the bottom of the steps at the exit of the lobby areas of the Boardwalk resort. We then followed the boardwalk to the right, across the bridge, and turned right following the path to Epcot. We measured up to the ticket boot area at the entrance to Epcot.

The total length as measured by the GPS was 0.36 miles .

I didn't take any photos on this walk, and am pretty confident that most DVC members are familiar with the walk. We didn't walk very fast, a measured 2.5 mph, and the walk took just under 9 minutes.

Check out Tikiman's site-- he was comparing the time from Poly to the center of FW at Epcot with the time from YC to the center of FW at Epcot.
He says ~10 minutes to IG.

Looks pretty clear its 10 minutes or less for YC and BWV, so BC must be 5 minutes-awesome.

We've stayed at BC and YC and it's 5-10 minutes max. The walk to the Studios is 20-25 minutes - if you just miss the boat it's worth the walk, otherwise wait.

Enjoy - YC is my 2nd all time favorite resort.

Last year just for the fun of it, we counted our steps from where we were watching Illuminations (by France) to the entrance of the ESPN Club at Boardwalk, and it was exactly 800 steps.

Last year just for the fun of it, we counted our steps from where we were watching Illuminations (by France) to the entrance of the ESPN Club at Boardwalk, and it was exactly 800 steps.

Good one. I checked on google earth and its .5 mile from the lagoon (straight out from SE or opposite of American Pav) to the bus stop. From the bridge to BWV is about .4 miles.

So if anyone watches Illuminations, its closer to the BWV (and even closer to BC/YC) than even walking to the bus stop.

We do the Epcot-Yacht Club walk all the time and never notice it to be very long, maybe 10-12 minutes.

We do the MGM-Yacht Club walk if we just miss the boat. We don't mind as we have 2 small children who enjoy the stroller walk. Again, I've never timed it, but it would seem to be around 20-22 minutes. It's a very peaceful walk.
