Yacht Club Standard Rooms Question

Okay -- hope we don't sound spoiled here. We're booked for a week at the Yacht Club next month (which basically means we have no reason to complain about ANYTHING in life!)
It's my wife and I and two daughters (14 and 10). All our reservations say is "standard room/standard view."
We were told that means two queen beds. But my wife found a website where they showed standard rooms with a daybed -- and now our daughters are thinking they can each get their own bed.
Does anyone out there know what the situation is? Are there rooms with ONLY two queens beds? Or do all standard rooms come with a day-bed -- or even a separate couch or something?
Also, if there are different "standard rooms" (one with a daybed, one without) -- does anyone know if you have to pay for the difference -- or specifically request it -- or just hold your breath at check-in and hope you get lucky?!
Thanks!!!

I don't have all the answers but I can tell you that not all rooms have a daybed in them. They all have two queen beds in them. You can always make a request on your reservation to have a room with a daybed but I'm not sure of the rate structure ... or if there is a different rate.

I can tell you that we had a standard view, it is of nothing. I think we were tucked into the corner of a building, I really don't think there was a view of anything, and I really remember views, but as you said, it is the Yacht Club what was there to complain about? Our room was comfortable and very clean. We had a King bed, so I can't help you on the bed question.

I am not an expert...I know more about the Beach Club, but considering how similar they are...I risk responding to your questions...

The daybed option is included in the price of a standard room, and some rooms have them, and some rooms don't...the daybed is what gives the rooms at the YC/BC the ability to sleep 5, assuming 2 each in the queen beds, and 1 in the daybed.

The daybed is like a smaller than twin mattress that forms the seating cushion of a couch like thing with a bolster pillow across the back that is removed to make the couch by day transform into a bed by night.

If you haven't already, I would add the request for a daybed room to your ressie...there is not an extra fee for these rooms, but priority may be given to a party of 5...

Just back....

We stayed 1 night in YC....I did not have a day bed....2 queens...

I did however have an awesome view of the boardwalk....
We were right above wedding gazebo.....

Put your 1st request daybed....
2nd request wedding gazebo view....looks out over the water:goodvibes
Have Fun

Not all YC rooms do have a daybed - on our last stay we scored a huge upgrade from a standard view to an amazing water view but the room only had two queens - I have 3 kiddos so they brought up a rollaway which made the room a bit cramped but worked fine.

Standard room is going to refer to your view, not bed set up. If the daybed is, indeed important to you request it.

Enjoy - it's a great resort.:thumbsup2

We stayed in a standard room at YC this past June. We had 2 queen beds and the daybed and a lovely view of the Wedding Gazebo. We made no special requests (as you said, staying at the YC, nothing to complain about!). My DD17 and DD13 had no trouble sleeping in the queen bed. Enjoy you stay.:flower3:

to the OP I suggest you call whoever you booked through and have them add a request for room WITH daybed. There is a good chance you will get that request filled.

Huh, learn something new every day. We have stayed at YC twice and had day beds both times, and since the Unofficial guide shows them in the room sketch I just assumed that all YC rooms had them.

We were there a few weeks ago, and my sister was there, too. Our room had 2 queens and a daybed, hers had 2 queens and no daybed. I don't know if floor matters, but we were on the 4th floor and she was on the 1st.

we just returned from Yacht Club over a week ago. Our first room was connecting and we practically heard thier conversation and so we asked to switch over to a new room . They gave us a new room, one at the end of the resort pratically, and there wasn't a daybed, so being kind of difficult, we went back to the fronk desk and told them that we wanted to keep our old room, and they kept on insisting that they wanted us to be happy and give us another room and this room also had a daybed.

We were just at the Yacht Club, as well. I think if you don't put it on your reservation, you can still just ask the CM at check-in if you can have a room with a daybed. They appear to choose what room to put you in when you actually check-in, as opposed to doing it ahead of time like some other resorts do. Have a great trip!!

All rooms do not have a daybed, most do. However they try to put families of 5 in them for good reason.

You can request one by calling CRO and have it added to your reservation. All Standard views are not bad, some are really nice. Simply ask at check in what is available and pick from there. Anything on the back side of the resort is more desirable than the front which faces the parking lots.

There are some really nice standard views of the Wedding gazebo and the back entrance. The ones of the back entrance are my favorite as it is fun to watch people come and go into the resort.
