Planning to book YC or BC for 4 nights in March. We will visit EP and DHS for one day each. Which resort would you suggest?

Wondering if it is worthwhile to book Club Level? Does it mean we check-in, check-out etc at the concierge and no need to visit front desk? Do we have access to a printer in the Club lounge (to print boarding pass)?

We have stayed at both and prefer the Yacht club Cl. Yes you check in and out at the concierge desk not the front desk. I would assume they would print out your tickets if you needed but Im not 100% on that one.

Which is better for kids would you say? We are a family of 5 and my kids are 10, 7, and 4. Thanks!

Beach Club is generally regarded as more kid friendly. To be honest though, YC has just the right sort of stuffiness that my kids straighten out and behave better. It's funny as soon as we cross that line and the coloring changes between the resorts everybody starts running and being crazy.

The pool at Yacht and beach would be awesome for all the kids ages!! A big slide and pool area for the bigger kids and two little kid slides and kiddie pool area for the little one.

Will it be a long walk from YC to BC?

I personally prefer YC. If we stay at Club Level, technically speaking I do not need any quick service. But what if I need to get a bottle of milk for DD5?

I am nearly certain milk is one of the normal items they have in the club lounge. (my family doesn't do dairy, so I don't look for that one) So for club level you would just walk down the hall and take it from the "free" fridge.

The walk is not long. If you are in the pool complex, you basically are walking along and suddenly the wall color changes, and you are at the other one. That makes sense once you see it. Check out the BC/YC thread and look at the maps- that gives you an idea.

Not to Epcot. The walk to Disney studios is longer but when its nice out I enjoy the walk. But if you dont want to walk the boat will take you also.

oops I thought you were talking about getting to the parks~!! lol Sorry!!! :) :)

Thanks tnkrbell & mistysue! Actually i am interested to know the walk to BC as well as the theme parks :)

After watching Fantasmic! I think best bet is to walk back to hotel since everybody will be leaving.

I guess I will pick yacht club CL :)

I tend to like Beach club more than boardwalk. I like the places to eat and its a bit closer to Epcot than BW.

If you are paying cash, think about looking for DVC members who want to sell points.

You can get a nicer room at the Villas there and it would be alot cheaper than paying cash. Just an idea.

I called Disney today to enquire Club Level rooms information, the CM told me that the concierge can do "anything" for me. So I bet they should be able to print boarding passes for you.

When concierge can do "anything", do you think they can book "Be Our Guest" dinner reservation for us? hahaha.

They have the same ADR site as us so no go if you can't get adrs somewhere. But sometimes your hotel restaurant they have some in with.

I bet they could if you made your request 180 days ahead. When we stayed club level at the Poly, IPO made all my ADRs within 5 minutes of the requested time, including lunch at CRT, lunch at LC, and dinner at CM.

Thanks again everyone. Booked Yatch Club club level.

The customer service representative asked me to call Concierge for room requests (don't know why she doesn't put them in the system). I guess I don't have to call or email until few days prior to my arrival?

Another question. We planned to arrive at YC around 11am, park our car there and then head off to Epcot (Lunch ADR at Teppan Edo at 1:00pm). Is it necessary for me to tell the gate guards that i am checking in? I understood that if i mention i am club level guest, the concierge may wait for me at the lobby and escort us to 5/F to check in ~ a good 30 mins will be occupied.
I would prefer, later in the day, officially check-in when we return from Epcot. Is that possible?

Congrats!!! I think you will enjoy your stay at the Yacht Club!

As for your room requests- I'm not sure I agree with what the rep told you- I would add the requests to my reservation through the central reservation office and again when IPO, the planning office at YC CL contacts you. And I would also follow up about 10 days before the trip.

So, will you be all set with park tickets as you head to lunch? You could probably do a couple of things- tell the gate guard you are a guest who will be checking in after a few hours. Or you could also make a quick trip into (and through) the lobby and when met by the greeter, let them know you will be back in a few hours.

I would like to invite you to join us on the Beach & Yacht Club FAQ thread. We have lots of pictures and information about the resort, and club level. You can click on the link in my signature.

Thanks Dee. I will check out the FAQ thread.

We will be doing a split stay. First GF with park tickets & dining plan, and then room-only ressie at YC CL. So I will be park tickets from my "previous" room keys even before I check in at YC.

Makes sense. Just wanted to make sure you were all set.
