Phyllis Makes A Deal With Deacon!
Phyllis goes to a shocking extreme this week when she makes a deal with Deacon to clean her son's name.
"Phyllis doesn't want Daniel to go to prison for Ray Elkins' murder. He's being framed and he didn't do it," says Michelle Stafford. "So she's on it. She's not oging to let that happen. She's not going to let her kid get taken down by this."
While Amber visits with Daniel at the hospital, Phyllis hears that the real killer tossed a gym bag into a dumpster on the night Elkins was killed and she goes there. Nick, Michael, Lauren, Jana, Kevin, Jack, Kay and Murphy all show up to help her dig through the trash and find the bag.
"Phyllis figures there has to be something it," explains Stafford. "She doesn't know what, but she figures it's something good, because why would someone get rid of it?"
Daisy shows up to help sift through the trash just as Eden discovers the bag. Heather takes a look at the bag and finds a ski mask inside, as well as other evidence. She and Michael both agree that the mask should be tested for DNA as soon as possible.
Alone, Phyllis continues dumpster diving when she suddenly comes across the shooter's cell phone, which has three voice mails saved on it. Phyllis is elated because she thinks she's hit pay dirt. "She does," says Stafford, who explains that Phyllis listens to the messages and she hears one from Deacon. "It's incriminating to him in that it reveals he's involved in the murder."
Phyllis decides to pay a visit to Deacon and confront him about the message. "He's very intimidated by Phyllis," explains Stafford. "Phyllis is tough. She's slick. Phyllis has too much confidence. She knows that she has some good stuff, so she doesn't need to get in his face."
Phyllis shows Deacon the evidence and makes him an offer. She tells him she'll dextroy the phone if he kidnaps Amber and leaves Genoa City. Is Deacon shocked by Mrs. Newman's obvious blackmail? "No. he's like, 'Yay! I've got it going on. I've got the mother helping me with this.'" chuckles Stafford. "He says, 'Deal! Let's go.'"
For Phyllis, getting rid of Amber is the best ending she could hope for in this tangled and twisted story. "This is what she wanted and this is working out for her," says Stafford. "Phyllis doesn't have to deal with Amber anymore. She's very happy. Amber created all this trouble for her son. Phyllis wants her out of Daniel's life."
The question is -- how will Daniel react when he learns what his mother has done?
