Y&R take 3 - SPOILERS inside

my guess is that they get other jobs - i'd hardly think they'd just be sitting at home waiting for that call.

my guess is that they get other jobs - i'd hardly think they'd just be sitting at home waiting for that call.

BUT how do they do that...with so much "contract" talk all the time...I mean if you went elsewhere and Y&R called and said we need you on Monday October 5, 2009 for 5 minutes in Sharon's hospital room to tell her that the judge has said she is free to go to her own home now.....well then you need to be available per your contract.....how can they have or get other work.....

i guess it would depend on how your next contract is worded - if you're just a bit part you may not have to worry, if it's a bigger roll you may tell Y&R to kiss off or you could word it in your contract that you would be able to go film Y&R if they call for that bit part

I cried today when they played the theme at the end of the show- that's all I'm saying......
It was the most I've cried for this show in a good while. ...Combination of the music and Colleen dying. :(

So whaddya think? Monday was actually a pretty good episode! From this soapfan’s point of view, it was moving, like it would have been in the old days. The scene between Ashley and Victor was poignant—a man who sees his wife holding their healthy newborn baby girl, despite his having been a supreme idiot; and a woman who now knows her husband is an idiot.

The Colleen scenes were lovely, the goodbyes were great, but Christel was still just not into it. Maybe she’s supposed to be the pillar of strength…still not a tear from her, altho I bawled (audibly, visibly) especially when she started The Lord’s Prayer.

Big props to Sharon Case, Pete Bergman, Beth Maitland (of course), Eric Braeden, Jeanne Cooper, and Thad Luckinbill (didja kno he was related to Lucille Ball?)!!

i know you guys are pretty much of one thought that if victor goes so does the show but for me i'd love to see a serious change up ...

From a symbolic POV, watching the end of this episode,…with the families lined up, watching their 2 loved ones being rolled into the OR….it seemed to be a changing of the guards. Even if I ddnt read the spoilers, I would know that it was a pivotal moment.
Finally! …a moment in recent Y&R history I can be proud of! Maybe we had to go thru the ridiculousness to get to this point, (and sadly) maybe we have to get rid of the shows stalwarts in order to go on in a more contemporary, and realistic fashion. Hopefully, things will get better. (OMG!, I’m an enabler aren’t I?)

On another note, has anyone seen AMC lately? I had written them off many many years ago, but they have become more compelling (maybe it’s all relative, they air right after Y&R on SoapNet in my area)

GREAT POST, Soapnut, ITA!!! :thumbsup2

As far as AMC goes, I have not watched it in a long time BUT I did hear they are moving the entire show from NYC to L.A. Susan Lucci has said she will go...not sure of any of the other biggies or long time actors status at all.

(I have been to L.A. by both sets of Y&R and TB&TB, I am guessing AMC will be close by as well).

Last time I watched was when Bianca and Reese broke-up and Bianca was leaving with the kids to go to Paris.

•A not so excited Chloe gets ready for her date with Chance, Chloe thinks she'll have a rotten time but it turns out she has a lot of fun. Chloe and Chance return to the mansion and start making out, things are about to go further but Chance stops it as Chloe is still married. It only makes Chloe like Chance more.
•Nick is spending time w/ Summer while Phyllis goes to see Sharon. Phyllis apologizes for misjudging Sharon realizing the sacrifice she made, she also reaches out to Sharon in regards to losing Faith
•Talk over what to do with the painting continues, Deacon gifts Amber a necklace which pisses off Daniel.

Next - Sharon runs into Adam and speaks about wanting Faith's ashes; Ashley tells Nikki of the accident (the one where it looked like she hit her); Billy tells Jack he is resigning from Jabot

wouldn't that be cool? i thought he might be lucille ball's grandson, but as it turns out, thad luckinbill is a distant relative of lawrence luckinbill, lucy arnaz's husband (lucille ball's daughter). so he's not related to lucy :(

At Colleen's memorial … Victoria wants to read a letter from Victor.
Neil tells Lily she doesn't look well.
Victor has a medical emergency.

To grieve the death of her daughter (Faith), a mournful Sharon takes her "ashes" to the Abbott cabin this week -- where she was conceived. Sharon is stunned when Nick shows up. Together, they spread the ashes. "Nick and Sharon need to mourn the baby together so they can move on," explains Joshua Morrow. "It's just a devastating time for them."

Could this bonding lead to yet another rekindling of their romance? "Nick and Sharon aren't getting back together right now," affirms Morrow. "They have their history and that's always going to be there, but Nick and Phyllis are building a history too."

Later, Jack tells Sharon that she should rent Brad's house. "Sharon is very preoccupied with losing her baby. Moving into her own home could be just what she needs for the time being. She knows that she and Nick are over for good, so this is a new chapter in her life."

While Sharon considers Jack's offer, Nick goes back to Phyllis, who tries to cheer him up. "Phyllis is just made of good stuff," notes Morrow. "She's gone above and beyond when it comes to being there for Nick and this is just another example of that. She's not going to be petty when he's going through this horrible thing because she truly cares about him. They love each other, plus she respects that Nick and Sharon needed to mourn their loss together. Phyllis gets it."

Phyllis tells Nick that he can't close himself off to the world like he did when Cassie died. "Nick tends to retreat into himself during tragedies," points out Morrow. "He did that when he lost Cassie, and in a way, it was Phyllis who helped him deal with that too."

However, can Nick really say goodbye to Sharon for good? Admits Morrow, "Honestly, I don't know what the writers have in store for Nick and Sharon, or for Nick and Phyllis, but I think they've done a great job telling the story and showing his relationships with these two women. There's no telling what could happen next."

Cane & Lily renew their vows!

As Lily deals with her cancer and the death of her best friend Colleen, Cane continues to be her safe place. Lily gets good news when her doctor informs her that she no longer has to live under a quarantine. Her first stop is the church cemetery -- where she visits Colleen's grave.

"Lily has gone through a lot," explains Daniel Goddward. "I think the fact that Cane has been there for her throughout this time, and that he's prepared to take it slow and not pressure her, and has been there to comfort her has allowed her to have the space she needed to realize that he does love her. They end up at the chapel and remember their wedding. Cane tells her that he never meant to hurt her and loves her. She accepts it and they renew their vows. It's a nicely crafted scene."

Daniel Goddard says that the cancer has made Cane and Lily more solid than ever, and it's made them appreciate their relationship even more. He calls this story "bittersweet."

Nick and Sharon do go back to the cabin where Faith was conceived. Sharon is there first, and Nick shows up. They spread the ashes. "It's just a devastating time for them." (Case). They share an emotional moments but Morrow clarifies they're not getting back together "right now." They have a history that's always going to be there, and "Nick/Phyllis are building a history, too." Jack calls Sharon, offers her Brad's place. She mulls the offer. Nick goes home to Phyllis who "is just made of good stuff." She sees he's in mourning (as well as Sharon) and is definitely not trying to get in any digs. She does tell Nick he can't close himself off like he did with Cassie. Can Nick stay away from Sharon? Morrow doesn't know what the writers have planned for either couple. "There is no telling what could happen next."

AND

Eric Braeden calls the contracts that actors sign bull@%#@. One-sided. You sign a three year contract, but the management has the right to revisit them every 26 weeks. SOD notes this has always been the case, he notes that they were not re-visited to this degree and notes while he understands it's not the best economic times that the pay cuts are "extraordinary." He notes it's not so much the pay-cut, but it's the ungracious way they handle it. He notes he was the first actor to agree to cut his salary (two years back). He said he got a cold letter from a lawyer this time, that's it, "you get the impression they don't care. It's not even about the money." He blames corporate culture - cut, cut, cut - but in the end you're also cutting the product. Looks like Y&R also sent a casting call for a new Victor. "I react to intimidation very badly." He thinks MAB is great and the show is "damn good." CBS has always been very nice. Talks about his respect for the Bells. He admits it would be hard to walk away from Y&R forever and lists the reasons why and talks about his enormous respect for the cast. He's not opposed to joining another soap. "It's still all too raw. After all the publicity one has done...after all the covers one has sold." He says others have contributed in that way as well. He's furious, he's hurt. "We don't want to be dealt with like some cog in the wheel." He restates that he understands the financial issues here, but he can't comprehend the cold nature they're handling it with.

Tammin Sursok: "It was all a whirlwind!"

After nearly two years in Genoa City, Tammin Sursok is gone and Colleen is dead. The actress explains how she dealt with the sudden change.

"It was all a whirlwind," explains Sursok about her final scenes, in which Colleen was held hostage by a crazed Patty and dropped into the lake. "We were shooting so many scenes at once, I was just trying to remember my lines!"

Sursok says that she is happy her character's death served a greater purpose for Y&R. "I was satisfied with the way my character was written out. I think a little bit of drama is always fun, and I had a memorable ending that created some good storyline for so many other people. I'm glad I got to be a part of that."

Sursok says that her exit from Y&R was a mutual decision between her and the show. "It was becoming too difficult to do Y&R and then work out outside films and projects," says the actress. "I was actually in Iowa shooting a film during that time (when Colleen's final scenes were shot)," she explains. "They had to use insert shots of me (which were filmed beforehand) for when she was shown in bed in the hospital."

Tammin says she will miss all the friends she's made at Y&R, but she's hopeful for the future. "I'm going to have a little break, then I have a new project in the works. I am also enrolling in photography school and am very excited! I feel like I have a lot to look forward to."

• Adam runs into Sharon at the hospital, sorry for her loss. Adam panics when Sharon wants Faith's ashes. Sharon starts getting emotional, which starts to get at Adam • Jack tells Ashley he wasn't the father of the baby Sharon lost. Ashley comforts him, she mentions wanting to return to Jabot and supports Billy when he reveals he wants to resign. Billy is put in charge of making the arrangements for Colleen's memorial • Noah and Nick have a heart to heart about his parents loss and what a brat he's been • Ashley and Nikki talk of the night Ashley thought she hit Nikki but Nikki reveals she wasn't hit • While Sharon is with Victor, Adam scrambles to find ashes to give Sharon. Victor offers his support to Sharon in her time of grief, later Sharon returns to her room and gets a package with "Faith's" ashes. Adam is back home, he remembers a conversation w/ Hope shorty before her death. Adam breaks down crying realizing how low he's become

Oh please tell me somehow they will not have Sharon & Adam hook up seeing as they have no one now. Please Please PLEASE NO!!!

YAY to Billy seeing Adam!!! I hope that this gets him so busted and everyone knows the truth and Nick and Sharon can be together again.:lovestruc

I am still totally loving Chloe! She is the greatest and I think her and Chance are so sweet together. I do like her and Billy but this is just sweet.

Billy has been GREAT the past few days!

Does anyone else think Chance's character is just, well - flat? Boring? John Driscoll as Coop on GL seemed so much more animated & outgoing & fun. I realize they're 2 totally different characters on 2 different shows, but I just can't get into Chance at all. He needs to loosen up a bit!

I also think Phyllis' chat with Sharon today was totally self-serving. I think she did it more for herself than to comfort a grieving Sharon. Typical Phyllis! Gotta love to hate her!

Sharon is the love of Nick's life. They kill all their daughters and tease us with a reunion. BUT, for now Nick's building history with Phyllis?

Of course, this is only one of the storylines that's turned me off Y&R.

Chance....ummmmm hmmmmmm not sure how I feel about him. He is kinda like Wimpy kinda I guess. I think he is someone that Chloe will get bored with. He is not Mr. Excitement. Although on a date he may be. They looked like they were having a good time on their date. But Chloe is about trouble and excitement. That is why Billy was so good with her.

Could you imagine Mac and Chance together :lmao:

He is a little slow but maybe they will find a way to make him not all sweet and pure and the good little boy....that makes for a boring man. At least he is easy to look at.
