XXI Olympic Winter Olympics Games Thread

If the USA had to lose to anybody I'm glad it was Canada! It was one of the best games I've seen (besides when the USA beat Canada earlier in the week)!

Great jobs by both teams! They played with class! Hey, Miller got MVP for the tournament!

Couldn't ask for more from our two nations!

Congrats to Canada! Hugs to TEAM USA! We still love you and thanks for a great tournament!

You know I was wondering since the players on both teams play for professional teams and have reached the pinnacle of play for their sport if it even matter much getting an Olympic medal. After watching this game and the last USA/Can match and seeing their reactions, apparently it does! So glad to see that!

Ya know what, I very much agree with you! Before this Olympics, the only part I knew of your national anthem was "Oh Canada...." and I usually sang it to the tune of "Oh Christmas Tree" but having heard it so many times throughout these games, I've made it a point to look up the lyrics and was finally able to sing along last night when Canada won curling and now tonight. It really is a beautiful song!

I'm sad the Olympics are over!

What a tremendous game, I feel so terrible for Miller, he played great but you can tell he blames himself for the loss.

I have to say I love your national anthem It's a big part of the reason I like to go to Sharks games when they are playing a Canadian team, lol.

I think I know more of the words to O Canada than I do to the Star Spangled Banner ...

So happy for Team Canada. I could hear cheering all over the neighbourhood when Crosby scored.

Team USA played so well... it was a such a close game and I wish there could have been two winners! Congrats to you guys. It was a honour to play you!

I don't care for hockey but it sounds like I should have watched this one. Congrats to all of the medal winners.

I did watch much of the cross country 50K though. How does anyone do that? I get tired just watching them.

Too bad that these games are done. The results were rather bittersweet for me but I enjoyed it. I like NBC's coverage too.

Canada has been a wonderful Olympic host and these Games have been fantastic for North America. Canada walks away with more gold medals than any other prior host nation and the US walks away with the most medals of any Winter Games competitor.

On hospitality alone these Games will be tough to beat.

I agree. Lillehammer was amazing and is still my favorite but I can't think of another one that comes close.

Agree one hundred percent. One thing that doesn't seem to have made the news is that Canada opened a section of the Olympic Village as an area for Gay athletes (and anyone who cared to enter). An amazing nation with more class than most.

I literally LOLed at that!!

I learned the anthem first in french and I still sing it that way, but the english version is much prettier. And less dramatic. Not that the French are a dramatic people or anything.

Canada has won most gold in the Winter Olympics then any other country not just the host nation. We broke a record.

I hope they sing it fast tonight at the closing ceremonies. I did not like the way they sang it at the opening it was way to slow.

congrats to Canada on winning the gold in hockey. that was the best hockey game i have watched. i thought i will only watch a little bit and get bored but the game was too good,had to watch the whole thing.
