I'm sorry, but if this had been the MENS hockey team there would not be anywhere near the outrage over their celebration. There is still a provincial element to society that cringes when women athletes do anything that looks "manly". "Oh my! they're DRINKING BEER!!!

They're SMOKING CIGARS!!

" Have these people ever seen a World Series Champion locker room? The beer, the champaigne and the cigars are flowing-and some of those players are pretty young too. The drinking age in BC is 19 from what I understand-so there was perhaps ONE player that was legally underage.
These young women worked their butts off to win this medal and they wanted to celebrate it on their home ice with their fans.
I understand that there are some people who have issues in general with celebrations involving alcohol-and I understand the objections to it, the poor example for young kids and all that. However, I really think in this case more of the objection is because of the fact that these were women than that they were celebrating with alcohol and cigars.
