The boyfriend and I are going to Disney World this September 6th through the 13th (staying in Pop Century). He insisted upon getting a package, and I went along with it, even though I think we could probably go much cheaper on our own. So we did the 5+2 Dream Maker package offer from Disney Visa and we added on the Silver plan.

So I was wondering, has anyone else used the Silver plan at Disney? I've been cruising mousesavers.com and have decided that we'll probably use our wishes on tickets to Cirque de Soleil, spa treatments, and probably the Keys to the Kingdom tour. Any other suggestions? Are these worth the wishes?

Thanks for any tips/suggestions you might have!! :teeth:

Hi Ali!

Packages can definitely be worth it, and even save you $, but you have to do your research. As far as what you have planned so far, Cirque is a great show, and Keys to the Kingdom is interesting too. I believe you can only use your wishes for 1 spa treatment per person, you might want to check that out on Disney's site... There's more than one treatment offered, but you can only get one of them - does that make sense? Check out allearsnet.com and take a look at some menus for the sit-down restaurants, meals can be a great use of wishes. You'll get a lot of food though so be prepared;) Have a great trip:D

I recommend that you do Hoop de Doo review, also plan for sit down meals at 1-wish restaurants for dinner. Don't waste wishes on breakfast or lunch unless you have already gotten your money's worth - example, say you are actually spending $20 per wish - spend it on things that would normally cost $20 or more - only when you have exceeded the total cost of the wishes can you start to spend on meals or items worth less than $20.

A couple of things to remember - alcohol is not included - it is billed separately and should get a separate tip, all other tips are included with the wish. Since the tip is figured for the server based on what you order - I think you can often do better at a restaurant than a set-price buffet - I have often worked with the waiter to create a surf & turf entree that is not on the menu. Always tell the waiter that you are using wishes, they love to work with you. Also if you can't find room for the dessert, ask to have it boxed to go and eat it for breakfast.

When you don't want to use wishes but you are charging to your room - read the receipt carefully to make sure that wishes are not being charged.

Keep track of what you spend your wishes on and how much you would have spent if you paid cash. I like to get a print out daily of my room charges - anything that was paid for by a wish DOES NOT appear - that's right, at least the last time we did it - you could not get a list from Disney of how you spent your wishes - charges would just NOT appear - I hope they have changed this. Anyway - it gives you a chance to dispute chrages that should have been wishes OR you can present your receipt if it should have been wishes. Bottom line KEEP ALL RECEIPTS.

You will gain weight on this plan if you eat your wishes but it is a great way to go.
