Xmas ressies

My wife and I intend to book a studio at our home resort (BVC) for Xmas day through New Year's day, 2003. (Check out on Jan.2nd, which is a Friday). If I understand the reservation system correctly, we cannot book for the entire period until Feb 3rd, because the 2nd is a Sunday? Is it critical to call day by day instead, beginning on Monday Jan. 27th for Dec. 25th and 26th, and then ask for the reservation to be kept open, then calling every day to add on? I'm hoping you guys will say that calling on Feb. 3rd should work since we're only requesting a studio, but I need some assurance. I understand that you can't promise me anything, but I'd prefer to make the one call, as my wife and I will be skiing in Vermont the last week of this month, and daily 9 AM phone calls would definitely put a crimp in our vacation plans (but possibly prevent injuries).

Sam- hate to put a crimp, but if you want to be absolutely sure to get what you want, I would call day by day. Or at least call a few times- maybe on the 29th for the 25-28 and call asap on the 3rd for the 29-2 because everybody and their brother will be calling to get NYE ressies that am

Thanks for the reply. That was what I suspected, but didn't want to hear. My wife is rehabing a twisted ankle, and may have some difficulty skiing. Maybe I'll suggest that she should only ski in the afternoon, so as not to do too much too soon! "Oh, by the way, dear, maybe you can call DVC since you won't be skiing in the mornings". LOL

Just posting to agree with kem330. The week between Christmas and New Year's Day, especially New Year's Eve, is the busiest time at WDW. It's equally popular with DVC members, especially so for the EPCOT resorts. Believe it or not, I've read here on the DVC Forum that studios tend to book faster than the larger sized units. While it may not be absolutely necessary to call day by day, why risk it? Sorry that calling every day will "put a crimp" in your skiing vacation, but IMHO, it's better than hoping a waitlist will work in your favor.

Good luck!

Thanks for the supporting opinion - That makes me realize just how important my wife's knee rehabilitation is!
