Hi all-travelling to the magic on 27/12/06 for 10 nights and cannot wait.
I know the Disney parks are going to be packed solid for new year so im wondering if anyone has tried seaworld. Also any other tips/suggestions for this time of year would be very welcome.
Many thanks
Dave

We were there last Christmas and will be again this year. Didn't do Seaworld but have done it on 4th July which is probably comparable for crowds and it was fine. My advice would be to make use of the fastpass system as much as possible over your holiday and if you do plan on going to one of the Disney Parks for NYE (we did MK last year and plan on going there again this NYE) get there early as they fill up by lunchtime and just expect to be there more for soaking up the atmosphere than getting on many rides or attractions. It is packed and a very tiring day but I wouldn't swap the memories of being there at midnight for anything. It was fantastic :)

We went oer Christmas and New year last year and SeaWorld was busy but not too bad, you had to get to the shos early to get a seat but thats no unusual anyway.
As you said all the Disney parks were the busiest I have ever seen them. Hae fun. :thumbsup2

Universal is very popular over the New year.

If you want to do disney at New Year, it is possible but you have to be prepared to get up early and stay late. We did it over the millenium eve, went to MK, got there by 8am and got in fine. The gates shut completely by 11, even to hotel guests using Disney transport.

Wherever you decide to go, remember to make dining reseervations for the entire day as early as you possibly can or you will be disappointed.

Hi dor1

Been watching this post with interest since we are going to be there for Xmas and New Year. Had planned on going to MK for Xmas Eve and Epcot for NYE.

Just got to convince the rest of my family it's a good idea. DH is not keen on having to spend all day in the parks just for us to experience the Xmas and NYE celebrations. :guilty:

Hi jools-its looking like it may be seaworld for us on NYE,dont know if i can stay in one park for around 15 hrs!
Cant wait though and should be great to see all the xmas decorations.

Hi there,

We will also be in Orlando for Christmas and New Year after having had such a good time over the same period in 2003. Then we spent Christmas Day at DC which we are repeating this year.

I could not face the thought of a long long day in the parks on NYE so we spent the morning shopping, the afternoon by the pool and in the evening went to the late Hoop Dee Do show and then watched the MK midnight fireworks from the jetty at Wilderness Lodge. We had a great day and avoided all the crowds. This NYE we will repeat the shopping and pool but this time will be going to the Disney Luau at the Poly after which we will sit on the beach and watch the MK midnight fireworks.

Remember that it will take you a long time to exit the parks on NYE as everyone will leave after the new year has been seen in and the fireworks have ended. This can add a considerable time on to an already long day.
