I need some ideas of what to get DH for Xmas. He isn't into sports, camping, cars etc.He has magizines that just clutter up house. Has a Desktop computer and my old laptop. Not a gamer, not much of a fixer upper person. Just want/need some ideas.

These aren't anything big but my DH has liked them. He works alot and doesn't have lots of time for hobbies, not into sports. Photo onto a mousepad or mug, new case for phone, blurays of fav movies,or even a bluray player and fav movies. Leatherman, pocket knve, binocs. I just got my da d a jump box,(so you can jump your own car, fill tires). Men are tough to buy for.

You've told us what he doesn't like- how about activities that he DOES like?

new hat/gloves, his favorite beer, ask him what tools he'd like. I got DH a pole saw and he spent the whole first day he had it taking half my backyard trees down.:scared1: He enjoyed himself, anyway.

Would help to hear from some men out there:thumbsup2

That is hilarious!!:rotfl:

I have purchased books and the Kindle Fire. I will also get the 2011 Grammy Nominees CD (I usually do this every year as a stocking stuffer, but I think I forgot last year), long boot socks (he has a hard time finding them) and that is probably it. Sometimes, I will get him a new wallet, board game (to which he usually responds, "Oh, great...another game you can kick my butt at!) or tools (he is a construction teacher). Sometimes I get a new kitchen appliance (he likes to cook).

Op, that's a tough one! I agree maybe a Kindle, or a Keurig. I bought DH the Keurig last year and he loves it. This year so far I bought him the Steve Jobs book & a PS3 game I think it's called MW3. I'm not sure what else to get because he has everything and is hard to shop for. I do always get him practical stuff like new undershirts, socks, hand warmers because he works outside, chocolate. Does your DH have a long commute? Maybe an ipod or books on tape(something to listen to if he has a long ride).

Your DH sounds a lot like mine! He's a pain in the butt to shop for.

As to what PP's has mentioned, DH doesn't drink coffee, doesn't drink alcohol & doesn't enjoy reading. The man's got NO hobbies except for watching TV and spending time with me & DD (which he does thoroughly enjoy doing).

This year I'm getting him some nice (LL Bean) gloves & a hat for the winter because he has a new job working downtown so he has a distance he has to walk from the parking garage to his building. My parents are getting him a nice jacket since it's out of my price range.

I always make him a photo calendar for his office from DD that he really loves. I use my Pampers gift to grow points for a Shutterfly gift card & get it for free.

Our husbands sound very similar! For Christmas, he asked for a pair of prescription sunglasses. Boring!

A GPS? That's what my hard to buy for husband mentioned that he needed. His is old enough that he can no longer update it. I've seen some close to $100. He loves gadgets though.

Oh, one more thing that I thought of it. It's stupid, and slightly TMI, but DH loves Uncle John's Bathroom readers. :rolleyes1

They have a whole slew of them at the bookstores & DH keeps a whole stack in the cabinet under the bathroom sink. They typically come out with a new one every year so that's usually something I pick him up.

What about board games? Would you guys play board games together in the evenings?

How about tickets for something he can do with the kid(s)? Maybe the circus or a movie? My dh is about the same, except he has a keriug, kindle and brand new phone. He buys anything he wants when he thinks of it, so that means I have to think of something he will like but has never thought of..... He usually doesn't do that well on Christmas morning :rotfl: I have done new wallets, ties, a nice coat, gloves, belts, etc. I think this year he's due for a new wallet and belt. I will probably also get him a car wash gift certificate and a dunkin donuts gc for his stocking. One year he got me 5 or so $10 gift cards for places I liked to eat lunch at during the work week. They lasted me a while and it was very sweet that he took the time to go to all of them.

I have a double whammy - DH's birthday is Christmas Day! So I buy double - and mostly dont know what to get him... I did decide to get him a whole roll of lottery tickets for his birthday - 100 $1 tickets and hope for the best! He will get a kick out of it.

Tickets for an event the whole family can go to. Membership at some type of museum, health club.... Gift certificates to go out to eat. Whatever food he likes a monthly membership. I recently read about a bacon of the month club. My mom used to do a fruit of the month for my grandparents and they loved that. Movie theater gift cards or Blockbuster. A get away overnight for the two of you.

The other thing to find out is if the whole gift thing is important to him or not. If it isn't then go with a bunch of little things like a basket filled with his favorite snacks, a new shirt for work, or a comfy shirt to wear around the house....... Many times in a marriage gifts (not pricey, just special) are important to one spouse and the other one could care less. The one who loves gifts goes nuts trying to find that "perfect" gift, and then the one who doesn't care doesn't care. My point is just that don't put too much time into this if he really isn't into the whole gift thing.

No kids, no drinking of beer or Coffee type stuff. The Bathroom readers are a possible, He has a mp3 player, new phones are a possiblity in near future but not something I could buy without him there to pick it out. I know he could care less about gifts but seeing as it's just us "big kids" I want to get him something. The lotto tixs are a possible idea. I'm thinking I might just do a basket type idea and just get him odd and end stuff. As for tools, he works at Lowes so I'm sure whatever I'd bought would be wrong. Last year I got him a new wallet, slippers, lounge pants and a gift card to BWW, that just got handed back to me to "buy" dinner for us one night.
A weekend way would be great but with 2 crazy/never same days off schedules I don't forsee that happening. Thanks for ideas so far.

He has MP3 player, does he use ITunes? How about a gift card?

I found out several years ago that my DH loved receiving nice chocolates; I never knew.

I think a lot of husbands are hard to buy for! This year DH and I have decided that for Christmas this year we will sit down and pick out next years cruise and put a deposit down. Its the one thing we do together every year without the kids (ok we bring the youngest but still...) He also has a December birthday so I will buy him something for the cruise - a massage or a snorkeling excursion, an upgrade to a balcony, something like that.

I won't buy him a Keurig because he drinks coffee by the pot LOL But I do go to cafepress and design him a mug every year - last years said "instant math teacher, just add coffee". I will probably buy him a t-shirt or sweatshirt this year also if I can find a design that I like.

If I didn't know better, I could swear you are all talking about my dh. He is impossible to buy for. How about a Hydroflask? It's a stainless steel water bottle but it keeps cold drinks cold for 24 hours and hot drinks hot or 12 hours. The kids and I have had them for a couple of years and we can't live without them. I reluctantly bought one for dh's birthday in Sept (I was out of ideas). To my surprise he loves it. He took it in the car to the airport last week and filled it up with ice and a diet coke. He left it in the car for 2 days and couldn't believe there was still ice in it 2 days later. Last week, he thought he left it at a meeting and was devastated until a coworker told him he had picked it up for him.

You can get them at hydroflask.com and enter promo code Dis to get 10% off.
