Xmas Eve dinner - Citricos or CA Grill?

Just looking for opinions here, since we've never been to either. A little background on our situation...

It will be myself, wife, and our (then) 2 1/2-year-old daughter. She is very good at restaurants and if she gets out of hand we have no problem leaving (we're not the type of parents to make everyone else suffer because our child decides she's bored or tired)

We're staying MKV at CR so while it'll be nice to see the fireworks from CA Grill on Xmas Eve, it's not the only time we'll be seeing them from CR.

We're on the DDP but we'll be paying OOP for this meal.

There's something for both of us on both menus, so that's not an issue.

So I guess I'm looking to hear from people who have eaten at both, or people who can comment on whether one is more toddler friendly than the other, or if one is more "Christmassy" than the other, etc. Thanks!

I'll try to help a bit before this slips to the second page.

We've dined at both many times. One Christmas Eve dinner at Citricos but none at CG. Citricos had a special menu that evening with many of the usual menu items. The place was packed with family groups dressed in their Christmas finery. I would expect the same at CG that evening although I think you might encounter more guests in park attire at CG than at Citricos that night.....just a guess.

I love the Christmas decorations at the GF including in all the restaurants. Just beautiful but they will be up in the days leading to Christmas as well.

I guess it depends on whether you're willing to hassle with travel on that night.

I have enjoyed meals at both restaurants several times. It's a tough question as the food is great at either. The view from The California Grill is outstanding and the decorations in the Grand Floridian are also greatwonderful

If it were me I would eat at California Grill then ride the monorail over to the Grand Floridian for Ginger Bread in the lobby for dessert. Hopefully the band is playing Christmas carols to listen to while munching on a shingle.
