My contract is almost up, and I would like to renew. So what is everyone paying these days? I know they will negotiate if I can hold out a bit. TIA

Im too curious, our trial is about to run up and DH loves the Greatful Dead channel, so wondering if they offer lower? Should you call and ask what lowest is they will do?

Don't hold me to this, but I think my last offer I got in the mail for my XM renewal was $25 for 5 months.

I haven't renewed. My DH had Sirrus several years before I bought my Honda that included XM for 3 months. Just hard to justify paying for 2 different satillite radios.

If you don't renew, they will send you one of two offers. Either 5 months for $5 or Half Price for a year.

I just dropped mine, and have no intention of signing back up. First of all, there are too many free Internet options now that I can stream over my cell phone. Second, Sirius' business practices suck! They stole $20 from me. I had a $20 credit and I called them to drop the service on the day it was to renew. Well instead of leaving the $20 credit on my account, they simply took it off of the renewal price. Then, when I called to cancel they zeroed out the account and the $20 no longer showed.

Sirius/XM is a dying company with horrible customer service and right now they are just trying to grab whatever money they can.

Earlier this year, when ours expired, we renewed for $77 a year. :)

When you add in all the taxes and fees, it came to $97 for a year.

Every year when the subscription is up for renewal. I call and cancel. The person on the phone asks why? I say, because it's to much and I can't afford the new rate. They they say, Will you stay for XX amount? (which is lower). I say no. We go back and forth as the price being offered keeps coming down. Then I agree to something similar to my previous promo rate and it's done for another year.

I renewed earlier this year and I got it for $70 something for the year....which included all taxes / fees.

I renewed last December for $88 for a year because I had been doing it quarterly and called and said $45 4 times a year was too much - so they gave me a year for half off.

I'll be calling them in November to "cancel" again. If they give me the lower rate, I'll take it, if not, I'm not too worried about it since I have unlimited data on my cell phone and can stream all sorts of music into my stereo through my auxillary jack. I like having XM but I'm not willing to pay more than the $90 since now I know they can give me that price.

I totally agree with their customer services/business practices! I refuse to deal with them. I cancelled my account and it pains me that dh uses them but he enjoys listening to sports radio on the way to work. But I hate giving them money.

Last year Sirius sent me a collections notice that I hadn't paid my bill?? Dh and I both had
service in our cars. I've never received anything like that so I panicked!! I was sure I paid them and scoured all my check registers to find check number. I found it and my bank statements where the check had been cashed. I called to straighten it out and they talked down to me, very unprofessional! I had to have my bank send them proof where they cashed my check, even after that, they would never credit my account. It took two months of going round snd round and speaking with managers and managers of managers!!! I finally requested a letter for them to send me confirmation that my bill was paid and it wasn't late and would not affect my credit. Ughhhh!

I don't like to bad talk companies but they are the only ones that I will.

When I originally bought my car I bought a 2 yr XM subscription for around $150. It ran up in June (I thought it went until July) - I figured out it had renewed by seeing a $450 charge on my debit card :scared1::scared1:

I called that day and they said since they had my card on file they automatically charged me the regular renewal rate plus internet radio for an additional 2 years. That card had expired almost a year ago! Oh HECK no!

What made me the most upset was the fact that there was no notification that it was time to renew - no email, no regular mail, nothing. I *might* have considered renewing for what others are posting on here (1/2 price for a year), but at $450? Not happening.

I cancelled the subscription that day - but they convinced me to stay if they give me free service for 2 months. Fine, I'll take free. When I called again at the end of that 2 months - they gave me ANOTHER 2 months free. So next month, maybe it will finally be cancelled for good, but for now I'm listening free.

Yes, your card is automatically charged. It's up to you to remember to cancel if you don't want your card charged. But adding internet radio to that subscription is something that shouldn't be done.

I just renewed in August and they wanted $100+ for 6 months so I told them to transfer me to the cancellation department because I would not be paying that much for 6 months.

When I got transferred the person I spoke to offered me 6 months at $39, if I didn't cancel. I took the offer, paid it online after I hung up and made sure they didn't have my card on file because they like to autorenew and charge your card automatically. I guess I'll call again in 6 months to see what they offer then.

Every time my discount runs out, I call them and say I want to cancel because I like it but don't use it enough to justify the full amount. And they always offer me a deal. This year I got three free months to "think about it," and then $70 something for a year.

Oh, and I always pay by check. Good thing, sounds like.

I agree, I have them bill me and then either send them a check or pay it online using the "one time payment" link under my account tab.

We'v had sirus for 2 years now.n Just gotthe bill and it was 127.00. I paid it but it was only because i'm seiously addicted to it

You can still call them back and either threaten to cancel because you feel it's too much or don't use it enough to justify paying it and they'll adjust the price and send you a check for the difference if it's less than what you already paid. I did this the first year I had it because they autorenewed and I was not paying $150+ for the year. They ended up charging my $65 for the year and refunded me the rest.

Yes, mine auto-renewed and I called a few days later to cancel. They offered me a promo rate of $5/mo for 6 month which I accepted and they did credit the difference back to my card. So definitely call :thumbsup2
