XM radio...who has it?

The article that the media was talking about took his quote out of context. He is not getting on his former listeners who have not come to Sirius.

i am sorry- my response to you has nothing to do with defending Howard- it actually has to do with my not having faith in ANYTHING that i hear on the news-- or actually that is written anywhere for that matter.

i stopped watching the news quite some time ago- most of the time i just shook my head and would be yelling at the TV because of the mind numbing journalism! i always asked myself- what do these people think we are- idiots for believing most of the junk?! i came to the conclusion that the reports that are given are 50% lies and the other 50% are not true! :rotfl2: and that pertains to anything that is being reported.

now back to Howard- i listen faithfully everyday- and i would find it funny that he would just go into detail about something in his personal life that made headlines, and in the meantime my mother would call me and say-- did you hear about whats going on with howard?- i just heard on the news that he.....blah blah......i would say- mom! that is SO not the story- i just heard the whole explanation out of his mouth!

so that is the reason i would say - dont believe everything you hear.

so what equipment do you have. When I was looking it appears as though the sirius equipment (sportster) is more expensive then the xm (roady XT)

Those are the two that I was looking at anyway.

it was a gift from my wife for xmas. I'd had the "fixed" one installed in my new truck last July. Now I have the portability. Take it out of the truck, go into the office, and it is on all day. I am the "diz" in the office. The other office areas are quiet...like a tomb. Then I got the idea to commute on my bike; picked up the new antenna...and pedaling along to the smooth jazz sounds. Hit a spot every now and then through the trees. Planning on taking it with me on vacation...now if they will make one as small as my ipod...for when I run. Yes, I love it!

You do the math 500 million over 5 years is 100 large a year, now factor in a year's worth of 3.5 mil subs, my college education and forbes magazine must be calculating it wrong.....he has paid for himself and then some this year and will continue to grow esp when it becomes streamed and the portables come out I am not trying to argue just stating facts

and let me just add, I NEVER once listened to Howard on T-radio not once, never watched him on E, and never saw Private Parts.....that being said I already had Sirius and decided to just tune in one day and haven't missed a show since he is honest about his opinions on things and some people think that makes him an *****, well I respect him for saying things that others are afraid to......and by listening the last few months I never realized the almost "cult-like" following this guy has. Sirius will overtake XM in subs before the end of Howard's second year I would be willing to bet on that and that is HUGE considering the wide distance they had before Howard came, hey if you don't like Howard the music is great (truly commercial free), BoDog and the other 2 comedy channels are hilarious, if Martha Stewart is your thing go for it, the kids programming, and not to mention the best part the Sports NFL, NBA, NHL, (soon Nascar) and the SEC (the only conference in college football) it was a no brainer for me , but we agree to disagree I guess and like I said I still listen to my Yankee games on XM, when I'm not at home to watch--I am not bashing XM only given my honest opinion from someone that has both

dh got it with his GM and we have gotten different promotions at different times. everytime I cancel it- they call me with a better deal. right now we are going on 3 months free and than $12.95 starting in June. I love to listen to the jazz station on the computer while Im working from home while dh has his talk radio in the car. He is bummed about the NFL package on being on the siruis though...

So are you trying to tell me that EVERY person that signed on with Sirius did so because of Stern???? And don't forget to figure in that Sirius is spending over $150 in marketing for each new sub.. They have had their subs jump because of Stern, can they maintain that going foward??? We shall see... If you like Stern, good for you, I prefer the better music, MLB, Fox Sports and The Sporting News that XM has,,

XM should see a jump with the addition of Oprah & Friends this fall..If you think Sirius will surpass XM in subs, you are nuts!

We have it and love it!!! I bought both sets a few months ago and did it when CompUsa was doing a sale and then had mail in rebates so they didnt cost alot.. We pay $20 a month for service to both.. I used to say I didnt want one because I couldnt see paying someone to listen to a radio, but now that I have it I wouldnt go without it.. This is our one splurge ..

We bought our second Sirius receiver (Sportster Replay) and installed it in my car yesterday. I am soooo excited and I don't have to be jealous of DH anymore. ;) Bonus is that we can now drive my car when we head over to WDW instead of DH's V-8 Tundra. So it will save us some gas money. :rotfl2:

Sirius has also recently added multi-user internet radio. It used to be that even if you had multiple receivers you had only one internet radio username. Now you get one for each of your receivers.

Bringing this back from the depths to ask if anyone has a good discount code for XM radio? I just purchased the Audiovox home/car bundle (got hooked on MLB radio) today and am looking forward to it.

We have XM radio. My dh and oldest son love theirs. I can take or leave it. My younger boys and I listen to Radio Disney, though. It runs $30 month for us.

I have it in my Hummer but did not renew after the 90 day trial period. I did not really listen to it enough to justify the monthly fee.

I've had XM radio for about 2 years now. I couldn't go back to boring FM radio. The main reason why I have it now is to listen to Opie & Anthony and the buddays Ron & Fez.

Ma'am, you are way overpaying! Its $13 a month for the first then $7 for each additional.... But then again you could have more than 3 radios.

DH and I have XM radio. We got the actual radio part for free because he works for Circuit City and that ran a short promotion for their employees last Christmas that if they subscribed to 6 months of XM Radio, they'd get the receiver for free (it was so that they knew how to explain how satellite radio worked). We pay $40 per quarter. We use it primarily for Cubs games...DH is a big Cubs fan (we're both from Chicago) and they don't play the Cubs games here in Louisville, but he can listen to home and away games with XM. Another station we listen to a lot is Laugh USA...just clean comedy. We love that station.

We've never had problems with XM...we like what they offer a lot better than Sirius.

I have a free three month subscription to XM and will NOT be renewing it. The sound quality is terrible--so compressed, it sounds like it's stuffed into a box of cotton. I like my sound crisp and clear, not muffled and compressed.

I have a great sound system in my car, and it's wasted on the goop that XM passes for music.

I dont care about the music at all, i just want the baseball package.

Thanks for everyone's input.

go with sirius. I love the quality, no comercials for music. Nfl & , of course, Stern. They are getting NASCAR if you are into that. I cannot isten to "terrestrial" radio anymore after having all of the choices on sirius.

I believe Sirius has NHL & NBA, as well.
