We have decided on this excursion for our day at Cozumel between the boards and talking with the Cruise Line excursion desk. For some of you who have already been there, how long did it take you to do the lazy river. My family seems to be interested in that and the lagoons versus the other things and I would like to be able to do a lot of it. I considered booking it on my own but I don't want to be left in Cozumel!!!!!

How long do we need to be able to do the better parts of this excursion?:bounce:

There are multiple lazy rivers, each of which is about a 45 minute experience, but that was with no lines. I adore Xcaret, but the only thing that may keep us from going is that three hours is way too little time to get very much done there. I think we may opt for booking horseback riding somewhere else on our own instead, although I must admit those natural lazy rivers are awesome.

We are also going to xcaret but want to go on our own so we have more time to spend vs the 3.5 hours with the cruise excursion. For those that have been here, what is the easiest way to get there and back?

Sail date: July 20, 2002 :)

From what I remember when i was there, the lazy river (the actual part where you were in the river, not waiting to get in it, although it usually is not that long of a wait) lasted about 20 minutes...the water is ice cold at first, but once you get used to it, it feels so refreshing. In fact, I went through twice. Another part of Xcaret that is very awesome are the tide pools...they are right where the waves wash in...they are so calm, until a wave hits...I can't even explain it that well...you'll just have to experience it for yourselves...everything is just so beautiful...in fact, if you have time (and money) for the dolphin encounter (yes, you actually get to get in with the dolphins and swim around with them), by all means, do it! You wont' regret it! =)

Do you have to book the dolphin swim at Ecaret separately? I don't believe it is included in the disney excursion, is it? I am also interested in having more time at Ecaret, and am looking into doing this excursion on my own. Any one have any insider information on doing this?

Yes, you have to book it separately...when I went on it, it was when I was vacationing nearby in Playa del Carmen...but it's sooo worth the money. Check out my mom and I's pics with the dolphins on my webpage: http://www.angelfire.com/mi2/sc1/index.html Then click on Playa del carmen vacation pics! Ask me any questions you have about the dolphin swim...I'd be glad to answer.=)
