How fast are these going to sell out tomorrow?

I know it depends on where you live. But I was wondering if its worth going out at midnight to get one. My 3 boys are joining in to ask Santa for this for Christmas.

Where they are available, they will sell out in minutes. The allocation on these is very small. If you seriously want one, you will need to be at the store and ready to stand in line for hours.

If your boys are old enough for an XBox (the games tend to be mature and violent, this isn't the right game system for a six year old, IMHO), they may be old enough to know about Santa, and your better bet may be to plan for an IOU under the tree.

My DH really wants one and was going to our Walmart tonight but I don't think he'll get there early enough...I just have this feeling it ain't gonna happen!!

Most places around me are not opening early to sell them and will have regular hours tomorrow morning...

I have a very similar problem. I should have preordered but I thought there would be plenty for Christmas. Now I am not sure. I will not be standing in line for hours tomorrow though. The local Walmart supercenter said they only had 54 total to sell at midnite tonight and that if i wanted one i should be in line by 7pm tonight!

I decided to take a chance and just be on the look out for them until Christmas and if i can get one great. I am not counting on it so my DS is going to get a picture of it and tell him it will be his Bday gift (Jan 20th) and get him a bunch of other stuff for Christmas.

It really stinks because from what I have been reading this whole shortage thing is being engineered by Microsoft to build media hype. And I refuse to buy into it.

I have read on another website that people have been in line since early this morning and the stores are not receiving many XBoxes to satisfy the demand. If I were going to buy one, I would do it online.

My fiance is actually taking the day off of work to stand in line for one.

our local walmart received 40 Xboxes which they will start selling at midnight tonight...

they have had a line of 50 people since yesterday in lawn chairs!!!

There won't be enough online either. But at least you get to sit at home

Whoo! Hooo! I just got the email with the tracking number for DS's! He'd pretty much resigned himself to getting something else for Christmas because I told him how hard these would be to get. Little does he know that I ordered it back in September!

My husband pre order his from blockbuster. They called yesterday to say there where in and he can get it at 12:01 tonight. But I know they didn't get enough to fill all the pre orders. But he was number 4 on the list so he will get his.

Not sure if this helps...but they are going to be very hard to get.

DH is going to Best Buy at midnight tonight to get one. He has been told they will have exactly 30 to sale at midnight and another 30 to sale at opening tomorrow morning. He is going around 10:00 to get in line. This is what the management advised him to do in our area. I live in NC in a fairly good size city. It is all rainy and cold here too. I am hoping this will make people stay home and go tomorrow. DS and DH will be so disappointed if he does not get one.

I am going to go on-line at midnight and have my cart ready to attempt to grab one if he is not going to be able to get one at midnight. Normally at our Best Buy they let you know exactly how many of what (like on Black Friday) they have and they give out cards for that item to the first people in line who want that item. So we are hoping he will know before midnight if he is going to be lucky or not. You never know if the 30 amount is the correct amount so he will not be leaving the line until he knows for sure he will not get one. He also is considering running to WalMart to try to get one if he find out in time to run up there. I told him if he is not to just stay overnight and get one tomorrow.... :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I personally do not play games of this type so I could care less. I think they are over priced. But each to their own..we are a divided house :rotfl2:

I thought all the old XBOX games would work on the new XBOX 360?????

I've already told DS(9) that Santa can't get any XBOX 360 this year for Christmas because there are not enough to go around (whew....got out of that one, LOL!!!) and that he would get on in March for his birthday.

I thought so too. My sister works for Microsoft and she told me most will work with the premium Xbox 360 and not the core Xbox 360. Of course, DH wants the premium Xbox 360!!

I wish my sister had connections getting the system but she doesn't. :( She can, however, in the future get the games dirt cheap!

That's interesting that they will only work with the premium system - makes you HAVE to buy the premium one even if you don't play online - interesting for sure - glad I found out because we have tons of XBOX games.

No, some old games will work, some won't. There are lists on the internet.

Some apparently won't work even on the premium system.

HERE a list of what each system comes with and the differences between them.

It's really a good idea to get the premium system rather then the core system and if you see the differences in each side-by-side (at the link above), you'll see it's worth the $100 more.

HERE's the list of what games will work with the Xbox 360.

we got an email with a list of 200 games that wil lwork on the new xbox as well
none of the ones we already have will work
not star wasrs lego
not the new nascar game
they said there MIGHT be updates to get them to work but ALOT wont

we were disappointed

'Yinz guys got the right idea! When he's done he can go get a sammich @ Primanni's & knock it back with an 'Iron. LOL Just kidding, must be something in the area water...hear he'll have quite a bit of company.

My 3 DS's, between them, have nearly every game system out there. I put my foot down on the 360...said if anyone wanted it, they had to pony up half...no takers yet.

I will spring for the new Nintendo system this spring (only because I like Wario!).

IMO, Microsoft is artifically creating demand by their limited release of the product - whatever, that's the name of the game. Hope that all are successful in their quest.:wizard:
