Xbox 360 w/ Kinnect - 250GB hard drive...yes or no?

DD is asking for the Xbox 360 w/ Kinnect for her birthday in February. I was thinking of getting it soon if I find a good deal. I've seen a couple of bundled packages, and a few include the 250GB hard drive.

I understand that the hard drive can be used for more than just games, but I'm wondering if anyone out there has one of these. What do you use it for?

I'm trying to determine if it is something DD will possibly need.

You want the larger hard drive. 4GB is just not enough if you want to download games. We have a lot of games that we downloaded. My husband also puts music on it. Even if you have the disk some games need to put files on the hard drive. This makes it so the disk is not running all the time, that will wear out the mechanisms faster. In the long run you will want the 250GB.

I agree that you will later be glad that you purchased the larger hard drive.

I agree with the previous responses - you'll either be glad you bought the one with the bigger drive or you'll end up regretting getting the smaller one. My son downloaded more than 4gig of content in the first month or so of having his... between demo versions of games and add-on content to games we bought for him the memory space gets eaten up pretty quickly. He uses his for streaming movies and music but really the only thing on the hard drive is game-related.
