I agree!

I also admire her serenity. It's just hard to imagine her ever raising her voice in anger, and that's a quality I envy!

She is a beautiful woman. I've had experience with southern women like her, and no, they don't raise their voice, but you sure as heck don't want to get on their bad side or raise their ire. LOL

LOL! And I'm sure you're right, and she can be a tough cookie when she needs to be. But to be able to do that without getting shrill....it's a quality I wish God had blessed me with.

You're not shrill, Bet. :p :teeth: You are gently persuasive.

And yes, Mrs. Bush is a wonderful First Lady, we like her a lot here.

I agree. She is classy.

I only saw parts of her speech tonight but I was also impressed with how calm and natural she was speaking in front of such a large crowd.

I think they could have found a better way for the "Twins" to introduce her, but from what I saw she did a really good job. . :)

She is indeed a very classy lady - but what else would you expect from one of my sisters*? ;)

(*Kappa Alpha Theta - she, Mrs. Cheney, and Mrs. McCain are all alumnae. I know you're all thrilled with that bit of random knowledge.)

Too bad we don't vote for First Lady instead of President... Mrs. Bush would win hands down!

Mrs Bush was fab, in total contrast to Mrs Kerry. I agree about the twins, that was just plain silly.

Absolutely loved Arnold's line, "Don't be economic girly men"!!!!

Mrs Bush wins the First Lady race hands down. She really has grown into the role very well. I remember reading in the first race how she doesn't like speaking publicly and how uncomfortable she was doing it. She seems to have overcome any fear she might have had. I really did not see the point of having the twins intro her except that the Kerry kids spoke. Sometimes children are better seen and not heard.

I agree with everyone here. She's a wonderful lady.

She did quite well for not liking giving speeches!

I agree about the Twins. Who approved and wrote that stuff? I know they are young and inexperienced so maybe they shouldn't have done the intro. Or maybe they should have practiced more?? It should have been a more serious and sweet intro. Oh well.

Go Laura!

Oh and Arnold rocked!!

Mrs. Bush is an exceptionally classy lady. I think she makes a wonderful First Lady.

And, whoever wrote that junk for the twins should be kicked. Tht was just short (or maybe not) of annoying.

I've had experience with southern women like her, and no, they don't raise their voice, but you sure as heck don't want to get on their bad side or raise their ire.

Rutt&Tuke - What's an ire??? I'm sure it's good not to raise yours, but not sure of what it is! :p

My husband works for the Secret Service and has always appreciated the fact that Laura treats SS personnel with respect and dignity. If she's good enough for DH, she's good enough for me.

Although I'm still not voting for her husband. Heh! :p
