I have a ts unit on hold for next April vacation. It's a Sunday to Sunday week so we'd be flying home on Easter. Is it more expensive to fly on Easter Sunday than the Saturday?

I have until tomorrow to decide whether to take this unit or keep searching.

Thanks!!

Where are you flying to and from?

The costs for flying really is based on the laws of supply and demand. This is a holiday weekend...and with many families needing to get back home(if their spring break is the wek before Easter) you might have a hard time finding reasonable airfare.

Some of the things to "help" with airfare - be flexible. It might be less expensive to leave your timeshare a day early and fly out Saturday night. It might be less expensive to come down a day early and stay at a different hotel the day before your timeshare starts. If you have several airports to fly from - check them all. Or - can you stay till the monday after Easter and fly home then?

Good Luck!

We're probably flying from Providence, Hartford, or Islip to MCO. We can't fly home on Monday because of work and school. We're usually flexible and have flown down a day early to save money the last few trips and we could do that again. We just can't go home a day later.

Thanks!

When I booked my MIL's airfare to visit us this past Easter, the best fares were for pre-Thursday, Friday, Saturday window. Easter Sunday itself was OK fare wise (the same cost as the Tuesday after Easter). Monday after Easter was high too.

Now this was for flights Chicago - Minneapolis. It really does depend on supply and demand. I booked on Southwest, so I could look day by day and pick out the best schedule (I also booked about 1 month ahead). Overall, it was more expensive than normal flights, but if my MIL had let me know more than 1 month ahead that she wanted to visit, I could have planned to find a better fare.

I booked the week so now it's time to start planning. We can fly down on Fri, Sat or Sun- whichever is cheaper. I think SW will come out with fares in October so I'll wait until then.

Thanks everyone!

As you said, you plan to travel during April vacation. Since many of the New England states are on vacation that week, airfare is likely to be high. The key is to find a price you are happy with paying and book it. Lower airfare may come out but prices may also rise.

Despite being a teacher, I am flying down Wednesday (4/13) night and returning on Thursday (4/21) before Easter. I am taking two personal days to do this but I think they are well worth it. DH and I got flights for $280 per person out of Portland (ME) and we are quite content with that.
