my boyfriend just mentioned that he wants an xbox. He has playstation 3 right now. Whats the best deal I can get on it? Saw it at target for 199. Any ideas?

You can get a preowned one at Gamestop for $99. If he wants the Kinect with it, you can get a new one with that for $299.

i think the lowest they will get is 199 but on cyber monday (this monday) you might be able to get one cheaper or they will be 199 and come with games or stuff ;D GL

be sure to ask a lot of questions at Gamestop before buying the used ones, some of those are the arcades which only have a small amount of memory most avid gamers wont have one, or some don't come with a hard drive and most likely wont have the wireless connections, and are older models which are more susceptible to the red ring of death.

The $199 one is for the 4gb one. If DB is a serious gamer he will want the 250Gb one which generally runs about $100 more, regular price. He will love you for it!

Make sure you are getting the prices for the Xbox360 with 250 GB. This is the one he is going to want. He won't want the other one.

Glad you posted this...thinking of getting one for DH. I was thinking the 4g because he isn't a big gamer just plays occasionally. We have a Wii that DH barely plays...everyone once in a while him and DS play but not tons. Is the 4g enough for someone that plays like that???

It depends on what games he'll be playing, and whether he will want to download additional content for those games. The XBox Live Marketplace has lots of downloadable content for the different games, and that can add up fast. Rock Band and Guitar Hero have new songs on there all the time and some of the first person shooters have new maps. Also, for the games that come with a disk of additional content (like most "Game of the Year" editions) the bonus content can't be installed to the 4gb system. There are also movies and arcade games on the marketplace, so even casual gamers could easily use quite a bit of the space on the 250gb console.

Agreed here too. A true gamer would have nothing but the 250G. In fact, my son has an old 360 and has asked for the new 250g bundle. When we bought the original, we bought the one with the largest memory and he says he's running out. We have a PS3 as well but he rarely uses it.

I'd spend the extra for the additional 246G.
