I've always seen those elusive "Bonnet Creek Resort" signs and never looked into the actual resort. Now, this July I have a conference at the Hilton Bonnet Creek resort. I'm planning on taking the whole family, but when I went to make the reservation I saw it was about $200/night for a regular hotel room. I always thought it was a condo type place. Well, I have since learned that is the "Wyndham" resort. I looked them up on Google maps and see they are both very close to each other. Does anyone know if they are within walking distance? Is that doable? Could we stay at the Wyndham and I attend the conference at the Hilton?

You can walk it in about 5 minutes if you are staying at Wyndham in a tower on the Hilton side. There is a nice sidewalk, too.

Thanks --- although, now I'm wondering if I want to make even a 5 minute walk in my conference attire in the 90 degree July weather! --- Didn't' think about that :)

They Wyndham is a HUGE complex/resort. Depending on which building you're in, walking to the Hilton would not be an easy walk in conference attire in July heat! My husband thinks it would be more of a 10 minute walk. But Google Earth will tell you the exact distance anyways. I know as I was driving through the area to the Waldorf, I felt it was a little bit of a drive. I am sure you can get good conference rates at the hotel and summer rack rates are sure to go down as we get closer to July. We are going in July too, and just reserved a room using Bonus Nights promotion, stay 3 nights, get the 4th free. I know my girls will LOVE LOVE LOVE the pool facilities, and we can use both the Waldorf pool and Hilton pool.

I would stay at the Wyndham and have your husband drive you over if it is too hot to walk. The extra space is soooo nice, (and it also wouldn't cost any more).

Thanks - I actually ended up booking the Hilton because the conference rate was outstanding - $149/night!
