Hi!
I wanted to know if anyone knows any info regarding the Wyndham Palms Resort condos? I think I read something on these boards about it. I went to the web site www.closesttodisney.com becuz someone mentioned about a $55/nite rate at their condos.

I inquired by email and they sent me some pics that look very nice and they will honor the $55/nite for the 2 bedroom unit (I'm going at the end of Nov and early December).

Anyone have any experience with this company and/or the Wyndham Palms Resort?

thank u!

We will be staying in a three-bedroom unit at the Wyndham Palms in two weeks time, Piginmud, and I would be happy to let you know what our experience was like when we get back. I asked the same question a number of months back when we were considering booking, and heard some very positive responses from people who had stayed there. It's apparently a very new property, with great recreational facilities.

I visited the Wyndham Palms area when I was down in January. I promised myself I'd rent a house from them when my Mom comes with us. The area has a cinema, a convenience store and lots of activities that most subdivisions do not provide. I was VERY impressed.

I have spoken to the people at the website, myself, and the company sounds great. I, too, would like to hear from someone who has completed a transaction with them.

MousyGirl, did you book through them? Have a great trip and remember everything so you can report back!

MouseGirl,
Thank u very much! I would love to hear what u think of the place. Can u email me directly also? piginmud@yahoo.com

Sharon,
I think I heard it on the disboards here about someone getting a $55/nite rate there. So I decided to ck out the web site. I emailed the email addy that was listed on the web site (www.closesttodisney.com) and a nice fellow got back to me immediately with some pics and gave me the $55/nite price.

We stayed in the 3 bedroom unit in December for $89. It was great. We did have to sit through the sales pitch but it was worth it. The staff is super and you will really appreciate the washer and dryer. I would stay there again and would consider buying there but on the used market, not the new market. I think you will be impressed. Their pool was very warm!

Piginmud, I'll be sure to e-mail you directly when we get back. Robinrs, we actually booked our unit privately through vrbo.com rather than through a company, but the price was also very good. The owner of the unit has been very helpful and professional in his dealings with us and we're very much looking forward to our trip. I'll be sure to let you folks know what we thought when we return. Two weeks to go, yippee!!

MouseGirl,
Thanks! I'll look forward to your "report" to me when u get back!

Zipitydooda,
Sit thru the sales pitch? Please explain? Did u go there on some special rate to have to listen to a sales pitch for the condos or something? I'm certainly not signing on for that one!
:-)

We made the reservations through wholesale. com and it was not until after a bunch of phone calls back and forth and checking with family members to finalize the plans that the operator asked"what time do you want to schedule your sales meeting?" By that time we decided --what the heck-- and tried out the sales process. I felt like it was a bit of a "set up" but I am actually glad we did it. I would just make sure that you knew for sure whether you needed to do a sales pitch or not for that price.

These boards are great!!! I have the $55 nightly rate too.
I'm going Memorial Day week and all I had to do was supply a credit card and number of guests to the nice gentleman I spoke with (his name is Simon). They do not charge your credit card unless you want them to at check-in. We have seven people going and we are allowed to pay seperately upon arrival.
My suggestion...book asap. Rates have gone up significantly since I booked and you have up to eight days before your check-in date to cancel without penalty.
I'll be sure to give a full update upon return.
37 days and counting.

Hi Angey777,

Please do post a trip report when u come back and let me know how Wyndham Palms is! I won't be going until end of Nov/early Dec, but I'm stilly curious. Mouse Girl replied to me and said they were really nice and that they loved the condos. So I can't wait for my trip...

I email Simon at Wyndham Palms for a quote for Jan 2.

He gave me a rate of $65 nitely for a 3 br condo unit. (AAA)

This sounds too good to be true for a 3 br condo.

Anyone know are all the condos there of equal quality or are some fancier?

Herc.

Hi, we just stayed in a home in Wyndham Palms in March. It was gorgeous, the facilities are wonderful and the condos look great (from the outside, didnt get in one).

The pool was absolutely beautiful, always clean, nice hottub, nice little store to get what you need (a little pricey). Playground, bball court, workout room, pool tables, etc. The kids loved the movie theatre, they will put dvds on for them anytime.

We felt very secure there and the location is so convenient. Lots of places to get pizza, chinese etc. delivered.

It never felt crowded either. Our house had its own little pool (alot of them there do) and the community house pool was never really crowded, always could get chairs.

You will love staying there. We didnt have to do any kind of a tour or anything, so I dont know how that works but they do have a sales center there in the clubhouse.
