Wyndham Palms or other 2 BR 2 Bath?

Has anyone stayed at the Wyndham Palms Resort? They are offering a 2BR 2 bath villa for $60 a night (first 4 nights, then $80 per additional night) if you take their tour. Do they do a really hard sell on you? Do they really keep the tour to 1 1/2 - 2 hours? You can't beat the rate, but can I get away from the tour with wallet intact?

Also, from the location, is a car a necessity?

Is there any other 2 BR 2 bath type accomodation that is close to that price that anyone would recommend? We will travel March 8 - 15.

You can get awesome rates on Windsor Palms (they changed their name) without taking the tour. Check out www.closesttodisney.com. Their rates are WITHOUT a tour or the hassle.

If you're referring about the Wyndham Palms Resort , I don't think they've changed their name. When I paid my contract off last week it was still said Wyndham Palms letterhead. I went to their timeshare presentation last year and it wasn't too bad. Just keep saying no. They do bring in two other people to "counel" you on the decision, but just remind them their 90 minutes are up. I'll be staying there for the first time this spring, but they did take me to the two bedroom villa and I loved it. The resort is not too far from the MK exit-two miles and there is a back way too, but I didn't take it. I think a car would be handy though. It's right off 192, so it's not too far from everything.

Wyndham Palms Resort is now Windsor Palms Resort. They probably are still using old letterhead. .

You can take a tour of their two bedroom unit to see what you're getting. It's a beautiful room. I'm counting the days until March.

As for the name change I don't think we're talking about the same resort because Wydham doesn't have any houses and when I went to look at the villas that on www.closesttodisney.com, they're not the same ones I toured during the timeshare. Just called owner services, they said they haven't changed their name.

The resort your toured was the Tempus Palms Resort. I also did a tour with them.

Wyndham/Windsor Palms is a completely different resort and is the resort Closest to Disney handles.

Okay! I'm glad we figured that out. How did you like the tempus resorts? It was a pretty nice tour except for the guy with the bad breathe at the end--I thought I was going to be sick. My dd just pretended she was a turtle and put her shirt over her head.

I was thinking about doing some other tours to see if there's another one that's better before I buy. My sister owns one at the Vistana--Villages or resorts- I have no idea, they really do need to get some different names going here , and she loves it there. This was my first timeshare tour, good thing we didn't have to do any kind of "game face" or anything because I was practically jumping up and down because I thought it was so cute.

I loved the property, what's not to love?? It's gorgeous!

Before you buy, goofyzgurl, check over the www.tug2.net website. Also, buying new can be MUCH more than a resale. Consider that when purchasing.

Thanks I forgot about Tug in all the "want" excitement you know? I am definitely counting down to Disney. *cough cough* I might even be sick from work and leave a day earlier to Florida, you never know about these coughs....I'm sure the dry air and Mickey can help me with it though...
