Just returned from Florida (landed 4 hours ago - trying to stay awake at the moment).
I stayed at the Wyndham for three nights (booked through Priceline) and it was very good value for money - although I would probably begrudge paying full rate.
The location is brilliant. A three minute walk from Downtown Disney - I don't think you can stay any closer. There is construction work on the road which has resulted in them closing the footpaths/sidewalk. I resorted to 'jaywalking' rather than trekking down to the crosswalk
Check-in was a bit slow. And the room I had been allocated wasn't ready. Lacking patience I opted to take the next available room which would have had a fine view of the fireworks were it not for the balcony being closed for renovation work. I think they are painting the outside of the hotel.
I suggest you have coffee/drinks in the bar on the top floor (Arthurs) great views from the 27th floor.
The gym/spa is well equipped - of course I didn't use it!
Car parking is a bit of trek from the hotel if you don't opt for their $10.66 a day valet service.
Hotel shop was ludicrously overpriced. Also, the vending machines on each floor only provide ice - no canned drinks. Thus you are forced to pay through the nose via the shop or room service.
Restaurant is okay - but rather smart and the food so-so. Plenty of choice at Downtown Disney (and believe it or not - cheaper!)
Email/web access provided by the TVs in room or dedicated dataports. Via the TV is $10 for 24 hours.
I strongly suggest you register for Wyndham ByRequest. Simply visit their website. Once you have you membership number (it is free) email the central reservations and have it added to your booking. We received a miniture bottle of JD (Cost $5 for the coke to go with it!!!) a bowl of fruit and some bottled water. Plus extra pillows etc.
The pool area looks attractive - although we only walked past it on the way to DD.
Cant think of anything else to say. Overall, a comfortable, clean hotel - very popular with conferences etc - it also had a homecoming party (prom?) one evening we were there. Lot's of very well dressed students clambering out of rediculously big limos.
As an aside - we decided to stay an extra night near Disney, so I booked into the Animal Kingdom Lodge, Savanna view. WOW! What a great hotel!!! I want to go back NOW!
Hope this rather long reply helps.
