Well just got back late last night from a five night stay at WBC. I thought I'd share my thoughts on the resort.

We had stayed at WBC before in '10 but thru DMs time share points. This time we rented thru farrellsvacations. I was a little nervous about using him/her but it was a great experience. They answered all our questions and sent emails and all the info we needed. I would recommend them to others.

We arrived at WBC on 6/2 around 1:30 or so. The check in area was very busy, had to drive around to find one parking spot and cars were just parked wherever. Check in was quick, there was a room ready in Tower one so we took it. The only negative would be the car pass lady. Part of that is trying to set you up for a time share thing. She wouldn't just take no for an answer and I had to finally just get rude with her(not something I like to do) so we could get our pass and go on our way.

We had been on a cruise the week before arrival. 2 adults and one 17 year old son in a teeny tiny cruise room, so the two bedroom suite was perfect. We actually gave DS the master suite and DH and I took the second bedroom with two queens (or maybe full) so we could spread out. First impression of the room when we walked in was it looked nice and was clean. There were small containers of soap, shampoo, ect, in the bathrooms. Not enough for a week but enough to get you thru a shower or two until you can get to a store. In the kitchen there was also small containers of salt/pepper, sweetener, coffee, popcorn, detergent (dish and laundry) a few other things along that line. Once again, enough to get you started but not enough for a trip.

After really looking at the room though, I felt it needed a refurb. The carpet was stained in high traffic areas. The living room furniture was a hodge podge. Looked (and felt) like the sleeper sofa was kind of new and all the furniture was in good shape, but none of it went together. The sofa was cloth light green, one chair was kind of a yellowy tan leather or more likey vinyl, and the other chair was blue cloth but different cloth than the sofa. The two lamps were different too. It just looked like they had took the best pieces they had and put in the room. Also the chair in the second bedroom had a good sized stain on it. After reading this big thing I wrote about the decor you probably think I didn't like the room, but I did. I was there two or three days before I noticed all this stuff. Some people may be put off by it though.

I liked having a washer/dryer so we didn't come home with so many dirty clothes but both were very loud. Also our TV service was glitchy. Seemed to be the provider not the TVs.

We had a very large balcony. WE had four chairs and a small table. It was good to sit out and listen to the rain.

We drove so we didnt' use the bus service, but the sign at check in said $5 per person for shuttle. Other than at the check in area we had no problems finding parking. Elevators were super quick. We heard little, the only exception being the last night 6/6, our neighbors were being super noisy. But that happens.

I probably woudn't want Tower 1 again. We're not big pool people, we don't make it a priority, but if there's one convenient we'll go. Tower 1 had no pool or lazy river, you had to walk to the main building for that. We didn't bother to do it, but had there been a pool right there we probably would've went down at least once.

Overall we loved the resort, we are thinking about doing it again in October.

Here's a quick list of the pros and cons or the good and bad or however you want to look at it.

The good: Great room right in the middle of WDW property for less than what we would've spent at a value resort (rack rate). Loved having washer and dryer and microwave. The extra room over a regular hotel room is great.

The bad: Pushy Car Pass lady. The room though clean was ready for a refurb. Loud appliances.

Just wanted to add, when we got back to our room on the second day we had a message. It was the front desk calling to make sure everything was OK and if there was a problem to call. :thumbsup2

My family was in Tower One this week too - room 223 - a one bedroom unit. We are Wyndham owners at another resort so we traded in. I didn't notice the noise of the washer/dryer or dishwasher b/c I always started them when we were walking out the door. Our furniture was the same - greenish couch with yellow throw pillows, yellow vinyl chair with brown bolster & a blue chair. The blue chair really did not go at all. I loved the granite and the cabinets in the kitchen. It took me 2 days to find the kitchen light switch which was tucked beside the refrigerator. Parking was good, elevators were good, noise level was really good, proximity to everything was awesome. I did use the main pool one day. I would have liked to check out the other pools but after walking in the parks so many days I had no desire to walk all the way around the lake to get to them. I kept thinking they needed to have a tram so I could get there without walking!

Our carpet was the only really bad thing. It really needed replacing, not because or stains but because of two rips or pulls or whatever.

All in all, I'd stay there again. I would probably take advantage of my Wyndham ownership status and make a room/building request next time around.

Normally that's what we would do too, but we had a weeks worth of cruise clothes to wash up. The washer and dryer got quite a workout with us.

Tip: Don't go see the parking pass people. It is just a thinly veiled (is it even veiled at all??) attempt at selling you on a time share presentation.

Security doesn't care whether you have a parking pass or not.

Good tip about skipping the parking pass as the security is a joke. They will just waive you through and the gates are always open. I've never seen anyone at night checking cars in the parking lot.

I get the pass anyway, but here is what I do. We usually arrive about 10 at night and there is only one guy at the front desk. Tell them you can't come back in the morning (which is true for us because the pass people don't start until 8:00). I insist on getting my parking pass right then and say that I am refusing the whole timeshare pitch. I usually get a wink along with my pass, and I never even have to deal with the rude salespeople.

We are here now. Checked in at tower 6 and there was not a "parking pass" desk there. No need for a pass at the resort.

There are a number of ways to avoid the pain, yours being one of them.

Some others are to leave your spouse in the car and tell them that you are alone and cannot make any decisions to buy property without your spouse, or check the box indicating your annual salary is 20,000 or less.

Personally, I find it easier just to avoid the whole thing entirely :) However, if you do use this method its also a good idea to unplug your phone. I received several voice mails asking me to come and complete my full check-in process :rotfl2:

No parking pass needed? Good to know, also if you mark that you make less than 50,000 per year they will look at you with pity and just give you the pass and say enjoy your stay!!

We just stayed there this week and I agree with you on your review. We stayed in a 1 bedroom in Tower 2. When we first went in the room it looked great, later I started to notice a few things here and there that made me rethink our decision. When I went to make the pull out bed for my son to sleep on, I noticed that both of the sheets in the set had holes in them. Then when I got in the master bed I noticed that those sheets were very worn as well. The next day one of my sons noticed that there was a piece of gum stuck to the side of the night stand.

Also, I was never approached about the timeshare presentation but I marked the lowest salary range on the form.

For the parking pass, if you check the box as not married, they want no part of you. I am happily married, but if felt good to take advantage of their ignorance. :lmao: Because even I was not married my money would be just as good. ;);)
