So, after much deliberating we have booked WBC resort for this coming August.

Its our first "off-site" stay without free dining and we're all really looking forward to the change to be honest.

Can anyone give me any advice, experience, room recommendation etc for this resort?

I've read quite a bit on Trip Advisor but always enjoy a dissers prospective?

Annette:)

We have stayed 5 times and will be there from 14th to 29th August this year after spending a week in St Petes Beach. We just love Bonnet Creek and would not stay anywhere else in Orlando.
Everyone loves different locations but we have stayed in the main building 3 times, this is the much lower rise one, only 4 floors I think including ground. We love that building as it feels more like a hotel and has a lovely pool and lazy river right out front. Theres also an activity centre, games room, business centre, quick serve restaurant. On our 4th visit we stayed in building 4 which is the next building along and has its own pool and another pool right next door at building 5 with another lazy river. We love this building also. Then last year we stayed in building 6 which is the newest building and has the big pirate ship pool and also an easy hop to the Wyndham Hotel pool which is also lovely. It also has its own reception area and computer room, activities desk.
I will request building 4 or main building next year. We find it easier to park there and just love the location. There are buildings on the opposite side of the lake which I assume must be buildings 2 and 3. There is another pool there with a slide but I have never stayed over there so cant really give any advice. There are different activities going on at different pools at different times. I think I have a activities guide somewhere so would we happy to send it to you.
Please feel free to ask as many questions as you like.

Thank you :)

I do have a couple questions if I may:

How do I request a certain room/block in advance? I've heard many state that as I am not "owners" I can only make my request at check in?

What are your experiences of the Time Share Salesmen, do you avoid collecting your Parking Pass in order to avoid the sell?

Also, is there a coffee shop on site?

I'm sure I'll have many more questions as the months tick by, thank you.

Annette:)

There are HUGE threads for WBC on the Orlando board on here.

They don't take requests anymore. I think they were getting too many.
I got the parking pass but my husband wasn't with me, so I got out of there pretty quickly.

There's also a Pay It Forward thread linked in my signature where you can get a bin full of things people leave behind, then leave what you don't need in the
bin when you check out.

Thank you :)

I have heard they don't take requests anymore but it doesn't do any harm in asking. The guy I rent from puts in my request and then I call a few days before and make a point of saying that I am travelling from England and may arrive late so would really love to be able to request a building. Even if you get a room you don't like you can always ask to move after a couple of days. They can charge you a fee but if you are staying a couple of weeks then I think it would be worth it to get a room you really want.

Theres a few places you can get coffee. Theres a quick serve place in the main building where they serve Starbucks and they also serve it in the shop in the main building. Assume you can also get coffee at the pool bars at building 4 and 6 and 3 but haven't actually tried. Theres also a coffee place in the hotel which is lovely and that serves muffins etc.

Never been to a sales talk and never will. You don't need to pick up a pass but if you want to then go to the check in on your own, say your husband arriving later. If they ask you to fill out a form, tick the lowest income bracket. I have never been hassled. You see loads of people doing the sales presentation walking around the building and I have absolutely never had anyone approach me accept to wish me a good day and to hold doors open for me.The only time it is mentioned is when you get your parking pass.
