I have a trip coming up in November, and my sister and I want to book something special for my parents to celebrate their upcoming retirements. My reservation window is opening soon and I'm having trouble deciding whether to book a fireworks dessert party or the seats & sweets option. If anyone has a recommendation either way I'd appreciate it!

I would choice based on what your priority is - a seat during the show or a better view. If you prefer the view, we like the fireworks post-party, you get to the garden first to pick your viewing spot and then can do the dessert buffet at your leisure, post-fireworks, when the hordes are trying to exit. If you would consider other options, dinner at Cali Grill is also lovely and the view of MK and the fireworks is spectacular IMHO.

I agree. The view from the garden is pretty much straight on to the castle, but you’re standing up. Whereas from the seats on the terrace you have a side view, sometimes with a few tree branches in the way, but Tinkerbell flies almost over your head! So it would depend on what’s more important, the view or the seats.

Amen to checking your priorities! I now use a mobility device outside the home but prior to doing so, being able to book seats for the show was the big draw. Desserts have improved from our very first party, but the view from the Terrace has been the best I have ever experienced. I love fireworks, but have never been able t stand in place long enough to secure a decent viewing spot, not to mention that taller people, or those with children on their shoulders, holding iPads in the air, etc, will always push in front of me. Through the years, my fireworks viewing spots have been from benchs (usually found under trees) or other places where I can sit around the park. I never had anything resembling a clear fireworks view except from the Tomorrowland Terrace. While the castle projections are quite impressive, but I don’t particularly care about not seeing them straight on. Or at all, if I am honest.

So, if anyone in your party would be more comfortable in a seated area for the show, book Treats and Seats. Do arrive early enough to get a seat by the railing. It’s lovely to be off your feet and enjoying those evening treats while waiting for the show, knowing you will see more than backs, and bums, and branches.
