Wyndham Bonnet Creek for Marathons

i'll be doing the Disney Princess 10k and Half in 2016 and will have a ride to the race start (from my DH who will drop me off before heading to his races in Tampa). For the Expo and returning to the resort after the races I'm on my own. Has anyone stayed at WBC for marathon weekends and how did it work out? I'm concerned about potential hassle for the DH driving me in race traffic and me navigating return to resort post race without a car. Thanks!

I'm going to assume your husband is doing some of the Gasparilla events? I have done the 5K and Half before and it is a great race.

If my wife and I were in your situation I would drop my wife at the Boardwalk before heading over to Tampa as long as one of the Boardwalk hotels was a host hotel. You will still want to leave early to allocate extra time both for the travel to the Boardwalk but also in case there is traffic on the way to Tampa. I275 around downtown is a disaster.

Thanks for the ideas and info! We'll look into Boardwalk for the drop off location. We want to be as efficient as possible with us each having races same day!

Yes, husband is doing the Gasparilla Michelob Ultra Challenge; looks like an awesome event with tons of swag. He'll be walking away with 5 medals, 4 shirts and 1 jacket. But I get to run through Cinderella's Castle, no comparison!

It really is a great event and the course is through one of my favorite parts of Tampa, Davis Island and Hyde Park. Hope you both have good races.
