There are 4 adults, 2 kids and 1 infant who I'm buying a seat for. I would love to fly Southwest out of Islip for convenience as it takes about an hour and a half to drive to JFK. Here are our options so far for Oct. 18-25th.
Southwest is $1887 total R/T. I was told to book a flight for the 24th and change it to the 25th when the next schedule comes out. We could get a ride to the airport and wouldn't have to pay for a car service.
JetBlue is $1260. Car service to JFK would be $320 R/T for all of us. They do not offer a discount seat for an infant. I've only heard good things about them and the cartoons would be a big plus.
Song is $961. They offered a discount for the infant and I'm told there might be cartoons by our flight. Again, car service would be $320 R/T.
My dilemma is I don't really trust Song. I see they are already switching flights around and Delta did that to us twice on our Nov. 2001 trip and it made me crazy. But the difference b/t Song and JetBlue would cover our car service. I could also do nothing and wait for Southwest but to be totally honest, I've never once gotten a good fare on Southwest since they've been flying from Islip so I'm not optimistic.
I'm leaning toward booking with Song and crossing my fingers they keep my early morning flight. So, WWYD?
AAHHHHH, I hate these decisions!!
