I can't freaking make a decision to save my life.

So, which would you do?

Hold out, and see what is available for December? (We're AP holders as well) or - book the darned free Dining?

We figured it would save us about $750 to not pay for dining - but then again, if we get a good room-only AP rate, we may save that anyway.

WWYD?????? AAACK

I only have three days left to book the free dining and I can't make up my mind! :)

I had the same dilemma, so we're going to do both! I must be crazy!!

We also were in the same spot -- we cancelled our Nov. trip in favor of early October. We really plan on taking advantage of the dining plan and so I think we will come out ahead by a couple hundred dollars. Even if we don't, I know that we will eat a lot better this way!

Okay - I did some math.

We are planning to stay at the Wilderness Lodge.
As it stands, for the trip in October for one week with free dining, we will pay: $1848

In December, with the AP rates, we would pay
(I'll be back to update with amounts - I can't get into the site right now)

If you are even considering going in October with the free dining, I would make your reservation RIGHT NOW. You can go online and get your quote with the best rate program for your december dates. BTW, is this the general public promotion or do you have a special code? I think the gp free dining ends Oct 4. But the party starts September 30 so you could still go to a themed MK party during your stay.

The free dining is a great deal but christmas at WDW... Hard choice

Okay I made the reservation.
They are holding it for 14 days and then I have to pay the $200 deposit by the 14th of July. eeek :) I'm really excited - now to convince DH we can afford this :) LOL

Now - what is this "party" that starts September 30th?????
Oh, doooo tell!! :)

Just the regular code - it's actually a 6 night ressie. But, we will optimize it by arriving EARLY the first day, and flying out LATE the last day - so we can get some extra park time in :)

I've never stayed at the Wilderness Lodge cabins - I hear they're pretty nice, though, and the CM said "hey - you can make a big breakfast and maids will clean it up for ya!" :) LOL

I'm claifying something here not because I'm picky, but I just don't want you to be disappointed.....

The Wilderness Lodge does not have cabins. The cabins are located at Ft. Wilderness Campgrounds (across the lake from the WL). They are nice and the CM is right about the maids cleaning your kitchen. The only way you'd have a kitchen at the Wilderness Lodge is if you booked a 1- or 2-bedroom villa.

I was going to flip out... I have been trying to get WL for early Oct for that past 2 weeks and nothing has been available... I thought you just called today and get WL...and I was going to get very upset. I know FW has the cabins available.....

Have fun!!

I would have loved to have had the free dining, but my budget just would not allow for us to make the trip that soon. We are just glad to be going in December. Maggie
