Hi. I've got a decision to make. We're currently booked at the Beach Club with free dining during F&W. Regular dining plan. With the new fall discount, I can stay at POR with deluxe dining for just over $600 less than my Beach Club package.

Beach Club - nicer resort, near EPCOT for F&W, park hopper

POR - $600 less, deluxe dining plan, no park hopper, but probably won't need it if we're not at a resort next to a park.

We're a party of 2 adults. WDW veterans. We tend to split our time up mostly between EPCOT and MK.

WWYD? I need to talk this out and I'm driving my husband crazy with my planning.

TIA!

I haven't stayed at Beach Club but I have stayed at Boardwalk and POR. If it were me, I would probably keep the BC reservation even though the deluxe DP is appealing, especially if you spend a lot of time at Epcot (as do we!). If we had a BC room during F&W, we would definitely take advantage of the quick walk to Epcot, a lot. Is the location of BC more important than the extra perks of the deluxe DP?

"Free dining" for 2 people at a deluxe resort is usually not a great discount. You can usually find a room-only discount that works better even after you add the DDP back into the equation. I see the BC is not included in the Fall Discount. Why not price the YC and BW for your dates and see how they compare. I would be inclined to stick with an Epcot resort if I were going for F&W and I would pay for PHs no matter which resort I am staying at. Also, it seems that you visit quite often, you should look into APs, especially since AP discounts are usually better than discounts available to the general public. 5% per day on a deluxe resort adds up fast!

Deluxe Dining plan is too much food even for me and I'm a big guy! BC is a great resort!

This! :-)

Do you really need the Deluxe Dining Plan? I can't imagine three table service meals a day. If not the difference will be even more at POR. If the $600 isn't a financial burden I would say Beach Club all the way for the proximity to EPCOT during F&W. The Yacht Club and the Boardwalk could also be considered unless you have a problem with either of them. Definitely Park Hoppers in order to enjoy F&W no matter where you start your day. Good Luck and Cheers!!!!!

Beach Club! Love the Beach Club (just returned from a 10 day stay...our 8th trip to BCV).

Love it all the way!

I love POR , but I also love where the BC is located. Stayed at YC, very nice. Hands down BC choice for me. Convenient to where you're going (I would also still get park hopper no matter too). Also, there is no way I could ever use a whole Deluxe eating plan!

F&W for two adults sounds heavenly! I agree that maybe you can get a better price at Yacht Club / Boardwalk Resorts, otherwise we love Beach Club. The Boardwalk resorts are fantastic, especially if you are planning to enjoy Epcot F&W. Good luck deciding.

BC looks beautiful but we couldn't justify the expense and are staying at POR. :)

I have to tell you POR is actually my favorite resort to date. I liked it better on our last split stay with YC, but the rest of my family preferred the YC. I can hear the music they chime in now, and the environment is just so me. I much prefer the outside doors, the walk to the best foodcourt on the property and just the overall feel.
I just voted for the BC for the OP based on what they were doing for their activities, and also because I felt a Dining Plus Package was way too much food. Also, while POR is my favorite resort, the boardwalk Area is my favorite and you just can't beat being able to walk over to say, boardwalk bakery, or into Epcot.
I wish POR was over there!

Always nice to have our choice validated! :) BC was mostly tempting because of that pool, but for about $150 a night more... can't do it. We won't spend that much time at the pool and a split stay sounds like too much work to my husband.

We've never stayed at either - but are booked for our 1st BC stay this November and we're so excited! The brand new rooms look gorgeous, fabulous pool & a short walk to Epcot  I'm sure you will have a fantastic time with which ever resort you chose!! pixiedust:

Thanks for the replies and advice, everyone.

I was able to use my annual pass 6 times, last year. It expired March 7. APs are dangerous. :rolleyes1 We will only be going to WDW once, this year.

The YC and Boardwalk are both booked for our dates, and our dates are not flexible. We wouldn't do 3 meals per day, but would eat at a signature, each night. We won't be doing any rope drops or commando touring (except for an early morning Crystal Palace ADR). This trip is just to relax and enjoy ourselves, which is part of why the deluxe plan is appealing. The money saved, using Disney math, of course, isn't anything to sneeze at, either. I'm going to sleep on it.

Thanks again!
