WWYD? offered free upgrade

Nope, we are not renting a car. I figure, we were not going to rent a car at ASMu, we shouldn't have to rent one at SSR. I know the resort is bigger, but it's just not worth the extra couple of hundred dollars that it would cost to rent a car for 10 days that's big enough to schlep 7 of us around, and since DD is 3 we would also have to rent or bring a carseat... it just all adds up too quickly, and for what? A small convenience. We love the Disney transportation, it's all part of the Disney experience for me. What's better at the end of a long, hot day than to just walk out to a bus and hop on - don't have to get into a steaming hot car and don't have to drive and worry about getting lost at night. I can have a cocktail or two if I want to in Epcot or at dinner without worrying about how long until I can drive. I feel almost pampered when I can go a whole 10 days without getting behind the wheel. I can understand why some people like to have a car, but for me, not needing one is just another wonderful perk of going to WDW.

Less than 6 weeks... I can't wait!

Finally, with alot of persistance, I was able to get upgraded to a 1 bedroom this morning. We had a studio at SSR, now we have a one bedroom and still staying at SSR!!! Since getting the studio upgrade, we have falling inlove with SSR. I am so happy we will still be there. This is a $3700 package that I am only paying $924. Good luck to anyone still trying to get one.

I just tried again. Still no 1BR available at SSR or OKW for the free upgrade. Still very happy with my studio. It will be here before we know it!!!!!

That's right...less than a month for me now!!! The time has actually gone by pretty quick since I called that first day in April free DDP was available to Disney Visa cardholders. DSIL hasn't had any luck with her upgrade to a 1bdrm either. All we can do now is hope for a miracle at check-in.

If you could get them attached, it would be a 2 BR and that's probably be perfect for sharing the big kitchen and the laundry. Do you arrive together?

Your scenario is really what I was hoping for and I even emailed GS and told them we would be able to take a dedicated 2bdrm if one was available, but I don't know if they will let us as we check in to OKW on the same day, but DSIL doesn't arrive until late in the afternoon and we'll be there first thing in the morning (we have a pre-DDP stay @ POFQ).

We also have a slight conflict with check-out as our ressie says we're staying a day later than DSIL, but we really aren't...we just wanted to keep the room past 11am as we have a late evening flight going home and wanted to be able to keep the room until our ME pick-up time. Plus by doing this we actually ended up with another day's worth of DDP credits...so it was really a no-brainer for us.

I feel your pain -- one time I called as if I was DSIL because I knew she was at work and couldn't. Anyway, the call required some changes where they needed me to call back and give permission for DSIL to access my reservation information (clear as mud?). Anyway, I called right back as myself and got the same CM that had just helped me thinking I was DSIL. I was in total panic mode and so speechless...all I could do was just hang up before I hyperventilated!!! I know they have caller I.D. and the CM was probably thinking to himself: "What a weirdo". I learned a lesson and will not call that way again!

I just had to write and say I am sitting at my computer by myself and this made me laugh out loud (maybe I am tired?). My kids came in to see what I was laughing at and they think I am strange right now. The good thing is, if you originally called "as your DSIL" and then called back using the same phone when you hung up, they are going to think it is your DSIL who did it!!!

I'm so glad to see this thread back up and running I miss hearing from my fellow disers who were offered upgrades.I haven't been on the boards lately because of some medical scares but all is well now and we'll be at OKW in just about a month.I got my ME package the other day.However I have not recieved my package from disney showing my paid off statement or my vouchers.Last yr I had already received them all ready since I have only 36 days left.Anyone recieve theirs?Let us know when someone recieves theirs.

I got the ME envelope last week, I bet yours will be coming this week or next.

Sorry about the medical scares and glad it's all okay, I've got something similar going on where I have to go in to the hospital, and it's still not scheduled. It's going to have to wait until I get home if they don't hurry up because I am not missing this trip for anything.

Nope, I haven't gotten my ME documents or my package documents yet. I like to joke around that they can send the bill on time, but for everything else they make you wait! I keep anxiously checking the mail every day, but nothing so far for any of our 3 reservations. One of these days my kids are going to think Mom is crazy because I will be jumping for joy at the mailbox.

I was thinking that since we have 3 1-br's at SSR, we won't be too close to each other. I was considering talking it over with my family and seeing if any of them want to switch to a studio so we could possibly get the adjoining units. Somehow I don't think they'll go for that though. We don't really need three full kitchens and all that, and I know for sure my DB and his GF don't even need the extra space. But there would be no guarantee that we'd get the adjoining units that way either, right? If they do want to switch, you know I'll post it here right away to let everyone know!!

I have received both my ME documents (they came separately since we have a split stay) but no actual MYW travel vouchers. Also, my ME documents did not have my DD included or the correct departure date. Since all the problems involved our departure intead of our arrival, they told me to wait until after I checked in @ OKW to have either the front desk or bell services assist me. Hope that's the correct thing to do...

OKW is one of my favorite resorts-of course we had a rental car the times we stayed there. I say do it-the transportation can't be worse than value, can it? OKW is beautiful!!!!!

we did a GG 2 weeks ago and the ME package came first and then within a week the other documents came.

That's great news! My ME documents just came yesterday, now I can start obsessively checking the mail for our package documents. Gotta have some little thing to look forward to, y'know?
