So we're driving from Sacramento and have enough room to pack some of our breakfast goodies, dry foods, ice chest, water bottles, sodas, etc.

But didn't know if going to target/vons when we got there (have plenty of time) would be easier? Well, probably will go to vons regardless for fresh produce!

Are the prices higher bec of the area?

Just wanted to see what you guys would do!!

If it were me and we had the room, I would bring as much as I could -- that way you don't have to spend your vacation time grocery shopping. :goodvibes We have been to the Target on Harbor and have not noticed the prices being any higher than usual.

Thanks for the info...I think I'll bring all I can and then get the fresh there :) Thanks for the input!

We are driving from Utah to Anaheim and will only be packing what we need for the drive. We'll go to the store when we get into town. We have to go anyway and I hate trying to keep everything cold and having to root around for stuff in the car. We are stopping overnight on the way there too and don't want to have to deal with more unpacking and packing of the car then necessary. :goodvibes

We just take what we want. We have a minivan so it's pretty easy.

I like to bring the majority of our food with us. It feels easier just to shop my grocery store at home where I know where everthing is and I know what are good prices.

I'll do a quick run for fresh produce (especially since we can get yummy things in CA which we can't get at home right now) and something we run out of. But, it wastes too much vacation time for me to shop there.

Exact ditto from me. :thumbsup2

Great answer, this is what I would do if we were driving

I, personally, would bring as much as possible from home - without taking too much room in the vehicle. Shop for what you need and are unable to pack. I don't like to grocery shop while on vacation, but there are times when you just need to. I've shopped at Target on S. Harbor and their prices were no different from my local Target. Just a side note, the parks do sell produce, but of course, the prices are ridiculous ;)

You can just order from Vons and have it delivered and still save time.

I like to have a fridge in the hotel room, and drive/fly (with heavy checked baggage) with cereal and soy milk, which doesn't need refrigeration until opened, and pb&j and bread as my packed "main course meals". I'm pretty sure cans of Pringles has made their way into every one of my trips too!

Part of the experience in going for me is eating at the parks, either restaurants or quick service, but by starting my day with a healthy portion of cereal and having pb&j snackage I don't feel like the money I spend on food at the parks is ever wasted because I'm never unsatisfied.

Since we are early risers and nothing opens early at DTD or close to the CGH we need to have the breakfast items in the room. Glad to have a microwave this time around, I like hot breakfasts, not cereal.
