My son will have just turned 10 before we leave for our fall trip. He has Autism and Sensory issues thus eating can be a big headache. When I make a dining reservation online it just asks how many in the party. Will we be required to order as an adult for him? This will determine what we eat at lol.

If we book a dining plan he will be counted as 10, if we are oop can he order off a kids menu?

For the dining plan, you have to pay the adult price for him since he would be ten.

OOP, you can order off any menu for him (kids or regular).

All QS rest anyone can order off kids menu. PP is correct the DP he's an adult, or any sit down rest. All buffets, anyone can eat anything. That might be a good alternative.

In your situation, I would definitely not do the dining plan. We find we save more by just paying OOP and using the TIW card anyway. In your case, I certainly wouldn't want to pay adult price for a child who is obviously not going to get the value out of it.

We did the DDP last spring and had a teen with us who ordered off the kids menu. With the DDP as far as I understand those who are charged/counted as adults can order from either the adults or kids menu. Those 9 and under who were charged as kids can only order from the kids menu.

We are trying TIW card this year as paying adult prices for kids meals just doesn't give you the value you have paid for.

We are in the same boat. My DD will have just turned 10 for our trip in the Spring. We are doing TIW. She would NEVER eat all that food.

I have figured it out that we will probably save $200+ by doing this. And I won't feel like I need to have dessert at every meal.
