Here is the deal. We are suprising our DD's 11-9 on Christmas and flying to WDW. We've been the last 4 years, but drove everytime. So, we are used to having a car and eating on the cheap. I've booked Kidani Savannah already. We have stayed in a Kidani Savannah the last two trips. The 7 month mark is Wednesday and I'd like to try somewhere else. I was thinking of trying to switch to OKW or BWV instead. We would save a few points as well. What would everyone do. I was thinking that BWV would have a few more food choices, but OKW is pretty close to DTD. We are planning on going to the parks 2-3 days. I'm stuck!

part of what I love about DVC is the variety---definitely try to switch. I would go for BWV, since you can walk to EP and EP has all the Christmas stuff in the countries. IF BWV is booked (and likely it is for that week, then OKW is fine and the units are very large. IF you have a studio at OKW it will have 2 Q beds, if that matters. We love staying at different DVCs each time--so far, OKW and AKV are our favorites. Elaine

Seems like you'd be kind of isolated at AKV without a car and dependent on long rides on the busses. Esp. without a car I would think OKW or SSR would give you more flexibility to get to other things to do. BWV would be nice for ease of access to Epcot/DHS, and there is stuff to do around there, since you're only doing 2-3 park days. It will be fun to visit the monorail resorts and VWL to see the decorations.
(I'd switch to OKW or SSR, if you're doing an informal poll).

I wasn't listening intently - therefore I couldn't post this on the availability thread -

BWV was hit and miss for that week when I called last week. There wasn't one category that went straight through.

Who knows if someone has cancelled but to give you an idea.

(Plus, DD bus from BW can be interesting. ;))

Don't forget that SSR is wonderful in some ways without a car. Especially if you nab CP or The Grandstand. One, all those restaurants at DD at your back door. And two, it's fantastic for resort hopping (which I love) because of DD - all the resort buses with NO transferring. And then just walk back to SSR. It's a lovely part all year round but fantastic option during a busy time with no car.

And literally one year we couldn't get our nephews out of Community Hall at SSR. Either there or the arcade.

OKW - so peaceful at a busy time. Lovely huge suites and oh the balconies. Excuse me as I sigh just thinking about them. And relaxing boat ride to DD for all those restaurants plus for resort hopping buses at DD.

Both you can't miss without a car.

Let us know.
