Currently have May 2-9 booked with a bounceback rate for Coronado Springs. Want to change the first 3 nights to either Caribbean Beach or Pop. It will be my sister and I, and I use a scooter to get around. The plan is to hit the Disney Studios for May the 4th, so I'm trying to keep transportation easy.

I first was going to switch those 3 nights to Caribbean Beach, but I am concerned because there are no elevators, and I would need a ground floor room. I have seen a few posts from people who did not get ground floor, and then had to figure things out. My sister has never stayed at CBR, so I thought 3 nights would be an easy way to see if she liked the resort or not. But I know we would be just fine at Pop for those 3 nights, as we have shared a room there before and enjoyed it.

So what would you do?

My understanding is that at CBR the only way to get a first floor room guaranteed is to book an HA room, so you would have that as an option if they have availability.

I would choose Pop and spend the extra money on a nice meal or some other experience. However, if you can get an HA room then a short trip is a good way to test a different resort to see if you like it.

Another option - which might or might not mesh with your bounce back - is rent DVC and stay at the Riviera. If not the option honestly as much as we enjoyed CBR I would do Pop just to remove the anxiety of not getting 1st floor

Except... as your BB was for a full week, they may not let you change resorts part way thru at the BB rate. I have a week at CSR in November. I decided that I'd like to do the first 3 nights at CSR and the last 3 at ASSports. Disney said I could do that, but the BB would only be in effect for the CSR and not ASSp, as it wasn't booked as a split stay originally. I'd check with Disney to see if you can do this.

FWIW, Coronado is SO close to Hollywood Studios, the bus there is super quick and easy. If you run into any issues moving things around because of promotions/the bounceback/availability, I think you could keep your reservation as is and I don't think you'd have any issue getting to the parks from Coronado.

Good to know thank you!

This exactly! OP, they’ll probably let you drop nights from your BB reservation. But the first 3 nights will be a totally new reservation & each resort will have a separate reservation number. Unless you’re within the 7 day booking period, it will not be a BB reservation & you’ll be booking at rack rate.

I voted for other because I would just stay in one place.

If you MUST change I'd pick POP. CBR is too problematic with an ECV both from a room and transportation point of view. Your room might not be near the Skyliner and that adds a bus to it.
