Curious- Are the kids riding the Serenity Bay tram out to the M&M Cabanas? It doesnt have doors and seems really unsafe for small children

Yes. They also now wait at the previously adult only bus stop too. They walk out to the adult only beach by the beach bar. Unfortunately, the entrance to the new family cabanas is right by the adult float rental. Real fail on DCL’s part. The entrance should have been on the other side.

That's really disappointing.

I obviously understand Disney Cruise's main factor is the family stuff, but it is disappointing to see them continue to drop the ball on taking away adult exclusive areas and by no longer ushering kids out of the few remaining adult exclusive areas. I've said it before, but it definitely has soured my opinion of the line and it has made Disney go from my go to cruise line to one I only go on for extended family vacations.

... Are you trying to claim that no one was injured on a Disney tram due to lack of doors before they were installed??? Death? No. Injury? Yes.
Which makes me wonder if there have been injuries since they installed doors

We just sailed B2B on the fantasy. Sailed the Magic and Treasure last year. The fantasy was the worst for keeping kids out of the adult area.

There were kids in cove cafe EVERY Single morning. There were kids at satellite falls multiple days. There were kids in the adult area on deck 11 seemingly every time I walked in there. Never saw a cast member tell anyone to leave like I have seen on other ships.

Then the whole serenity bay issue on CC. No break from kids on the fantasy.

Doesn’t look like I claimed that even once on my post. Just stating that trams without doors aren’t inherently dangerous. No different than when families ride in a golf cart.

I am about to sound like an absolute Karen but I have actively called out parents that bring their kids into Cove Cafe before. I like Disney cruises, I mean obviously since I am a Platinum member, but it feels like they are caring less and less about enforcing their own rules and that really messes with the whole experience.

I just wish I could convince my extended family to switch over vacations without the niblings to Virgin, but they are set in their way so I'll continue with Disney for extended family trips and Virgin and other adult only lines for trips with my wife and I.

Those are not the same at all. A golf cart is a small group of people that where the driver can easily see all of the passengers. A tram is a much larger vehicle with multiple cars, where a driver cannot possibly be keeping track of all the passengers.

Did you mention it to staff during your cruise out of curiosity..? I feel like Disney tries not to rock the boat if they can get away with it as they can assume everyone is happy and avoid conflict. They have other coffee bars so I'm not sure why kids feel the need to go into Cove Cafe anyway.

I did not. It isn’t my place to enforce DCL policies. And every time you make a complaint, it goes into your file. I save my complaints on the ship for really bad things - like cabin 5500 on the Magic.

I do wonder if this is a recent policy change - the same guy made my coffee every morning on the fantasy. He has worked in cove cafe for many years and I have previously seen him politely tell people to go to a different place to get their coffee when they entered with kids. Not a peep from him for either cruise we just took.

...well now I wish I could see my file! :rotfl2:That sounds like a lot of work for them, I wonder how often they refer back to it,and how many years back it goes.... I've seen kids in the adult areas since I started sailing in 2011 but some cruises are better than others. I've even seen a baby sleeping at the adult pool. I only noticed because I was having a heck of a time finding a lounger every day that trip, but to the early bird goes the worm! I've never complained about it but if things on Serenity are as bad as folk are saying that would probably warrant a mention. The only other complaint I've raised is when they changed their alcohol policy. We cancelled a Southern and booked with RCCL in protest and I made sure to tell them that was why. Might be in my file somewhere I suppose...to be honest I don't even drink much but my husband used to purchase unique rums in the ports and enjoy onboard so it meant a lot to him. Didn't stop us though... they won that one.
