WWE'S Chris Benoit and his family found dead!

dosent appear to have been a "rage" so to speak. This was an act taken out over a weekend, not in moments, minutes or hours.

Yes I have made up my mind on the roid rage (simply because it doesn't fit MO) It was was to long of a period to be roid rage.

If he killed his wife in a moment of RAGE, you guys really feel he would have to be enraged the entire weekend in order for it to be ROID RAGE.
:confused3 :confused3

Not saying it was rage, steroids(prescription or not) can also cause paranoia and deep depression. And they may end up playing no part at all.

I just find it funny how some take a police theory on one issue to be fact, and when the exact same police mention another theory on a separate issue they call it speculation.

Until the investigation is 100% complete it is ALL SPECULATION.

Ok my point was and is that rage of ANY type, (roid rage, fit of rage, just plain rage) is normaly something that is done then over, not lasting a weekend.... go into a "rage" kill someone, stay there wait a day, kill someone else then wait another day and kill yourself. That seems a little unlikely, and send messeges in between! Again to me seems a little unlikely, I have heard rage described in killings before, "fit of rage, moment of rage, but weekend rage thats a new one.

Whether it was a brain injury or steroids or mental illness, my question is, what will happen to prevent future problems like this? Will they test wrestlers for steroids like baseball players? If it was a brain injury, will they start to require wrestlers to wear helmets like boxers and other athletes do?

Nobody is saying he would be enraged all weekend.

If he was enraged for 2 minutes(say on Friday night) and killed his wife during those 2 minutes, does not mean he would be enraged the entire weekend?

The rest of the weekend could have been just a chain reaction/depression/panic/etc...

We dont know, and I dont think an autopsy really has a RAGE detection test so we may never know.

Actually, even once the investigation is 100% complete there still will likely be a lot of speculation. It's very possible that all the investigation in the world won't be able to paint a complete picture of what happened and why.

Here are some interesting new stories that sure COULD put a twist on this case:

News of Nancy's death posted to web 14 hours before they found her body

They have raided the office of Beniot's doctor

Nikki G links Cutts and Benoit

The first story is very interesting - I hope LE is going to track down that computer to see who was on it - seems like someone knew something before everyone else including LE.

Yes, I agree.

Toxicology report might find or not steroids in the system, but neither would conclusively prove or exclude possibilities of roid rage/depression/paranoia/etc...

Holy Moly - this case is getting weirder and weirder:

Ala is now looking into the death of Sherri Martel

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,287182,00.html

A week to the day before pro wrestler Chris Benoit murdered his wife Nancy, former pro wrestler and manager Sherri Martel was found dead of unknown causes at her mother's home.

Martel, a pro wrestler in the WWE Hall of Fame who later managed the likes of "The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase, was found dead in her mother's home in McCalla, Ala., on June 15, according to published reports.

Linking the deaths of the Benoits with Martel is former pro wrestler Kevin Sullivan, a man once married to Nancy Benoit and who also was Martel's friend and booker.

They already test and have been testing since 2006!! they test for roids, illegeal drugs and even higher then normal levels of perscription drugs.

Infact Benoit tested clean in april of this year(his last surprise test) done both by blood and urin(sp?)

Wow some crazy stuff!!! Kevin Sullivan is a freaking nut also! Almost everyone in the wrestling world knows this man is pretty much crazy!

Im still leaning torward Benoit went psycho, but theres some interesting news bits there to say the least.

It seems that now it's wrestlings turn with a steroid scandal, like it was baseball before.

Now wait I'm confused are they saying Benoit could have killed this other lady too?

Yesterday on one of the CNN news shows they had a former wrestler being interviewed, they mentioned that over the last 5 years 60 pro wrestlers under the age of 45 have passed away.

Being close to 40 myself this left me in shock.

Not at all. Sherri most likely died of drug/alcohol related abuse. She has been an addict for decades and even gave her WWE HoF acceptance speech plastered last year. The only link is that she had been somehow involved with Kevin Sullivan who happens to be Nancy Benoit's ex-husband. Sherri's death was not surprising or unexpected in the wrestling world. The media is only covering it because of the Benoit case, this story was barely covered on wrestling news sites because it was nothing shocking.

Kevin Sullivan can be linked to pretty much anyone in pro wrestling over the last 20 years or so. It IMO is a weak link that sounds interesting so the media is running with it.

It's not very surprising for wrestling fans. These guys were allowed to do any drug unchecked until 2006 if they were in the WWE, and believe they did. The vast majority of pro wrestlers do not wrestle for the WWE. Out of the thousands of pro wrestlers in the world, maybe 60 work for WWE. These guys in international and indy feds take every drug under the sun to cope with 300+ days on the road a year for decades on end, and physical abuse. In addition the vast majority of them take steroids to maintain their status in the wrestling world. When you add in chair shots, ladder matches, table matches, and the constant abuse your body takes, it is no shock that this has happened.

The wrestlers who die are usually ones who stick around in the business for way too long. After Vince releases them, they do not find work in other industries, they tour high schools and gyms in indy feds as long as they live. Guys who get out before they are 40 usually will live a healthy life. It's the lifers that get the really bad stuff.

Being in the WWE they are subject to routine drug tests, physicals, cardiovascular exams, and have a doctor standing by at all times. I'm fairly confident in saying that WWE wrestlers stand a much better chance at good health than the vast majority of the guys out there.

::yes::

Besides, who cares if actors take steroids.

Well the media seems to think that steroids made this actor kill his family, which I find to be completely groundless, but if they truly believe that, then actors should obviously not be allowed to take steroids.

An empty bottle of wine and 10 empty beer cans were found near Benoit's body, but the media has no desire to cover that because they want this to have been caused by steroids.

I was wondering if anyone else here had heard this story. This keeps getting more and more strange! Do you think she has messed with their minds too much or something?
