WW Weekly Weigh-in

Well, I gained at WI last night - 2.4 lbs.

But I deserved it & knew it was going to be a gain. We had DS's second birthday party. That with all the running around getting ready for the party (and eating on the run) was my downfall. I also wasn't even drinking the minimum water - and it was 90-100 degrees and humid! It's ok though since I will be really good this week and it should come right off.

Hi everyone! I'm new to this thread and was so excited to find it! The last time we went to WDW in 2003, I decided to lose weight and lost 25 lbs on my own. The moment our plane hit the ground in Orlando I started gaining it back. What made it worse is that it was in December so when we came back home, I just ate my way through the holidays.

I gained 40 lbs back......

For over a year I have been desperately trying to lose it. I got about 10 lbs off earlier this year, but it was really hard. After that I tried EVERYTHING to lose more, but my body wouldn't budge. I thought that maybe it was menopause and that I would just never be able to lose any more ever again......Boy, THAT was depressing!!

So, 2 weeks ago I decided that enough was enough and joined LA Weight Loss. It was really scary because of the cost (very expensive). But, I dug into some of our saved WDW money (going back this December) and joined.

All I can say is...WOW! In two weeks I have lost 10 lbs!

I love this program!!! Actually, for those of you who can't afford it, I think it's very similar to Weight Watchers. But instead of points, they break it down to how many servings of starch, protein, dairy, fruit, vegetables, fat you can have in one day. So, I still feel that I am eating plenty of food, it's just in smaller portions, more often, and the right kind. And I finally get it that I won't be going "off" this plan ever. I'm learning how to eat for the rest of my life. Again, just like Weight Watchers.

I have to wiegh in 3x a week which I like. But I also realize that I can't depend on someone looking over my shoulder for the rest of my life....

But I am SO HAPPY with the program! My goal is to lose 35 lbs. So 25 to go! Yipee!!! :cheer2:

Congrats on goal, I have a bit to go to that but will make it someday. I struggles this month but am pleased, started with a loss, maintained, gained and lost 5.2 so I lost it all and more. I am pleased, I get so frustrated. I am going to do it. I really want another 10+ before we go, I have abandoned my 20 goal, unrealistic but I really want 10, so I need to keep motivated.

Have a great day and happy counting. :wizard: :earsgirl: :hourglass

Welcome erinz!

WW used to be similar to this many years ago.

welcome erinz :)

a maintaining week for me - suppose that's good of after a weekend of festivities. this weekend is beginning to look to be the same. it's been crazy hectic busy for me, but i'm thinking of you all and pretending you are watching over my shoulder :teeth:

I'm up 0.5 lb from 171.5 to 172. Not complaining b/c I just got back from an overnight business trip which equals all eating out for the last 6 meals or so!! I'll get back in the game! Now, it's July 4th this weekend and we'll be at the beach!!!

Hi Everyone :flower:

I am new to the Disney boards, which I love, and am so delighted to see a weight watcer section! I usually go on the WW boards, but this is fun!

I started WW 4/4/5 and have lost 14.8 lbs so far. It is a very slow process, but I am glad to be a part of it. I am averaging 1.3lbs a week, which is great, but of course would love more.

I know the slower you take to lose, the more permanent it will become, BUT, off record, I have notice some poster have lost a significant amount of weight. What is your secret? I was wondering what I can do to jump start/shake up the weight loss a bit.

I drink all the water plus some, that is not a problem. I just started exercising 2 weeks ago, about 3-4 times per week. I started at 204.8 and currently at 190. I weigh in on Sat, so I hope to be in the 180's~

Anyway, just wanted to know what you may be doing differently. Over at the WW boards, if you talk about more that 2 lbs a week they get all over you and say you should be happy with what you are doing so far. I agree and understand that, but lets face it, we all would love to have some awesome weeks in there!

Thanks!!!!

Jeannie
PS going to disney 8/6! would love to be at least 10 lbs lighter by then!

Jeannie:

In 2004, I lost 35 lbs from 210 in January to ending the year out at around 175 or so. It took me all year. I had made 185 by May or so, and around July I'd gotten to 177. Then I lost my drive and motivation. And I had to take a "break". During my break, I got back to 185. In November, I recommitted, joined meetings (to get through the holidays) and went to the gym 3 times a week. I got to about 168 or so by February. I am a SLOW LOSER. Many weeks, it'd only be a .5 lb or 1.0. Then, out of no where, I'd lose 3 lbs in one week.

I'm currently 171-172. And frankly, I'm thrilled to have kept off the overwhelming majority of what I've lost. My advise: Just keep plugging away. And when you burn out, give yourself a break from points, but try to keep up exercise and overall eat healthy. (Watch your weight carefully so you know you are not losing ground of course). Then, when you get that will back, go at it again. It definitely takes a certain mindset.

Am I where I'd love to be (150's...), well no. I am a lot healthier than at 210 (or 217 in Jan. 2002 when I first joined WW) - heck yes. Is it easier to find 12's and 14's than 16's and 18's (and sometimes 20's) heck yes. Will I get their eventually, I hope so. That's just one person's perspective... everyone is different and you have to figure what works for you. Good luck!! :teeth:

Hey Jeannie and Welcome...

You will absoluntely LOVE this board. And as for WW, I've been doing the program for just over 10 months and have lost just over 57 pounds so far. I'm like you, losing an average of 1.3 pounds per week. Some weeks I have a huge loss and some weeks not much at all. I play around with the points, using 22 some days and 20 others (I should be using 22) I hardly ever use my activity points and almost never use my 35 weekly points. I find if my weight loss is slow, I tweak things a little. I've been lucky so far, never really hitting that plateau that I was expecting. I do exercise 5 days a week, usually about an hour, maybe an hour and a half a day, doing cardio and weights at least 3 days a week.

You just have to find the thing that works for you. Everyone is going to be different and if your losing, your doing something right.

Good luck!

Thank you ! I weigh in tomorrow morning, so I will keep you updated!
I have been eating alot more fruit this week that usual, so I am hoping that the fiber helps, and I have be exercising also!

Have a great holiday weekend!
Jeannie

This week I was down 1.8 (which is the exact amount that I was up last week).

Have a great week everyone!

Hi I thought I would jump into this thread.I came to this forum looking for a boost.I hit Lifetime w/ Ww a couple of months ago.Last sunday I went to weigh and I had gained over 9 lbs.It was not a real big surprise but it was hard seeing the number.Well I buckled down and today(yessterday)I went back.I lost 3.2 lbs. :cheer2: Then I took the kids for pizza.OOps.Tomorrow (today)is another day full of choices to be made.Goodnight. :wave2:

Hi all! Once again, I have been MIA. We were in WDW for a week, but I got sick down there and am still not over it. I have not weighed my self since before WDW. The ATB's are not making my tummy happy, so I am waiting until I am off them. SO, I should weigh in next week.

I have not gone back and read the previous posts.

Welcome Jeannie and dismom!! :grouphug:

Well, with the Holiday, I forgot to post here. :sad2: No biggie tho, I maintained. I'll take it. ;)

Have a great WW week everyone! :sunny: :flower:

I'm down a little over 10 pounds (but under 11). I only lost .6 pounds this week. That's my lowest # for the 4 weeks I've been on the program. Not shocked though as I ate pretty good this last weekend with the holiday, etc. I used my weekly points which I never really use. I also slacked when it came to journaling. I didn't gain though, lol. (15 pounds away from my goal.)

I weighed-in last night was was a big fat zero - which is fine. With the holiday weekend and a friend visiting from Philly, so if I didn't gain, GREAT!

So, I am down 23 lbs. and still have 14 to go until goal.

(the slow loser of the group  )

Well because of the holiday I assumed that I would gain my 5 lbs. back that I just lost. But I was pleasantly surprised and didn't gain any weight back. :cool1: The down side is I didn't lose any weight either, but I didn't gain and that's all that matters to me! :rotfl:

I forgot to post earlier this week because of the holiday. On Monday I was up .5, but as of this morning I am down 2.5.

I just joined ww 2 weeks ago. I'm happy with my weight lost so far. I'm down 9.6 lbs. I sometimes have a hard time eating my points. This is the first diet I don'tfeel hungry on. I have a lot more to go but and happy with my results so far.
