Welcome Suz!! :welcome: I have only been a member of WISH for a short time but everyone has been wonderful. You will find awesome support here.

Can I ask what everyone usually has for breakfast during the week? I have so little time in the morning that I usually eat in the car on the way to work and then have something mid morning. I would ideally like to start the day off with protein, for energy and fiber, to fill me up.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Hi again Suz :)

What I normally eat for breakfast is a WW english muffin or bagel. I top it with light cream cheese or I Can't Believe it's Not Butter spray. Along with that I have some skim milk and some type of fruit. I found some sugar free oatmeal (maple and brown sugar) that I really like so sometimes I'll have that and some fruit with a glass or milk.
 
:welcome: pl'smama!!! This is an awesome place to find support and inspiration. WW is such an great and effective program. I too am a repeat WWer, but this is the time I will not quit, and it's great to have the Wish boards for support. I've been having 1/2 cup egg beaters that I cook in the microwave on high fiber light toast with salsa for breakfast. It's only 2 points, but it definitely holds me over. I also have a mid morning snack at work- either oatmeal- (I like the weight control quaker), or a fiber one bar and a banana or yogurt. Welcome and good luck to you.

Thank you Mikamah, I appreciate the welcome and the tips on breakfast foods. This board looks like it will help me to stick to plan this time around to. I am excited to have found not only others who will support me with the weight loss thing, but love Mickey as much as me!!!!

My breakfast changes all the time. I think I might lose best when I have oatmeal. Not positive about that though. Sometimes if I've had chicken breast for dinner the night before I will have some of that. Or I like eggwhites scrambled with some frozen mixed veggies. Or even a morningstar farm veggie burger - only 1 point but lots of protein. Sorry i know my suggestions are weird and more like lunch foods. Yogurt too is good. I also like the Thomas' lite multi english muffins with hummus on them. Or even a little lunch meat turkey.

Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to tell you all that I lost another 0.6 pounds....Not much but it was still a loss. So now I am down 11.8 pounds so far. Yeah
 
Thank you fofina, those are good tips. My DH works shift work and usually has "lunch or dinne" for breakfast so your suggestions are not that far out there. I can recall, many years ago, like 25 or more, when my mom was on a diet with some doctor. She would prepare these burgers, probably some low fat beef or what have you and that was her main breakfast item. Every day. It worked at the time, but I think there is something to that more protein thing in the morning, along with the fibre.

Congrats daisy2, good job on your loss. I need the inspiration!!

Typically for breakfast I make myself a small veggie omlet with egg beaters or have a WW yogurt. I also like oatmeal in the morning as it tides me over pretty well !!
 
Wow, I missed so much being gone for a week!!! I hope I don't miss anyone, if I do I apologize in advance. I missed you guys and I even was in line with another WW and told her about our WISH site, hoping once she is back home she will check us out for the support and motivation she is looking for.

Thanks, Miss Missy! And sorry to read about your gain, but very happy when I saw that you lost 3.2 after your gain, that always helps the motivation. And Mik is right, a good attitude will bring you a long way through the ups and downs......never give up!!

Thanks fofinia, (and I did have a great week), WI isn't until thursday so I will have to wait until then to see if I can honestly claim my GOAL clippie. I am hoping all of the walking I did at WDW will balance all that I ate. Sorry you had a .6 gain, hang in there and hopefully this week will be a loss for you.

To answer your breakfast question... I work 3rd shift so my eating is weird LOL but I do try to eat like I am "normal" so I eat dinner pretty much when I get up since it is really dinner time then and I can eat with my family. BUT I do have what I call breakfast, just not when everyone else does LOL. I like oatmeal, but the regular quaker oats, 1/2 cup with a tad 1% milk and some flaxseed grounds, a dash of Cinnamon too. Its great for your cholesterol too.


So congrats to everyone else for a great week! I will be working the next 13 nights so I don't think you'll see me more than a pop in. Things are busy these days :(

I"m up 1 pound today at weighin. I'm not surprised, with the easter candy I indulged in, and overall I haven't been eating too well lately. I just went to the grocery store, and loaded up on fruits and vegies, and I'm going to make chili tonight. I'm vowing to stay within my points for the next week. I've done it before, and I can do it again. I probably should have gained more weight this week, but I have been walking or biking 3-4 times a week. I am officially either old, or my exercise is now a habit, because I walked at the mall this morning, and was definitely the youngest one there. :laughing:

Congratulations Daisy02- .6 is a great loss in my book. Those little losses all add up.:cool1:

Mikamah, I'm sorry you had a gain. I went and stocked up this week on extra veggies and fruits too. Trying to change it up a bit for the week.

Has anyone tried the slim-a-bear mint chocolate chip ice cream cones? My friend was just telling me about them. She said they are great and only 3 points. I don't prefer mint, but for anyone that is looking for a special treat, maybe worth a try!!

Just back from weigh in. I lost 1.6 pounds this week, bringing my total up to 15.8 pounds gone!! :yay:

mikamah- sorry you had a gain this week. I bet next week will be great and you'll see a loss then :goodvibes

{{{{HUGS}}}} Mik. I hate the weeks where I have a gain and I am sorry you had one this week. But on the bright side you seem to know the source of your gain and you have a plan for the week.....good for you!

pl'smama, I try to change my breakfast's up every now and again since breakfast isn't my favorite meal of the day. Some mornings I blend a WW smoothie in the blender with ice and drink it on my way to work, 1/2 cup 1% milk, 1/2 cup water, 9 ice cubes and smoothie mix equals 1 point. I then give myself a mid-morning snack, maybe an apple or something to hold me until lunch. One of my favorite breakfasts is the individual portion sizes of Egg Beaters (no measuring) and I make an omlet with one wedge of Laughing Cow cheese and 2 oz. of Hillshire Farms ham, all for 3 points. The protein really holds me most of the morning and if it doesn't I have a fruit or zero point veggies to hold me to lunch.
 
Back from my weigh in tonight. Down another 1.4 for a total of 4 so far. I still have a LONG way to go but I'll get there !!

I have also been doing water aerobics classes and I really like them !
