WW Weekly Weigh-in

Can I join this thread again? I had joined awhile back- I don't remember exactly when, but since then I got pregnant and had my little girl. She was born 7 weeks premature, so the added stress of the NICU did not help with losing the baby weight! She's 7 months old now and I've been really trying to get back on track for a couple of months now- I started WW online in Oct. and so far I've lost 12 pounds. It's been a very slow process- I think it's because I'm still breastfeeding and I'm hungry all of the time, but I've started eating better and I go to baby boot camp (a fitness class for mom and baby) twice a week. I managed to maintain during the holidays, so I was very happy about that! This week I lost half a pound, not bad, but we're taking a short trip to Disney in 4 weeks (our little girl's first trip!), so I need to stay on track these next few weeks and lose a little more!

Congrats on your baby girl and :welcome: to WISH!!! We are always happy to have another joiner....the more the merrier.

How do you do it? Do you not eat your weekly 35? Awesome

I very rarely eat any of the 35 extra points. I have to admit that I have quite a bit to lose and think it comes off a little easier for me because of that. I am very restrictive with my diet and am exercising at least an hour every day.

Kathi, I am not sure who you were directing this question too, but I will add my two cents (and you all know I am not shy about that!) But, according to my leader and her words have rung true for me, you need to eat at least some of your flex points, they are there for a reason. It may sound crazy to eat more to lose, but your body needs nourishment to help burn. I usually come pretty close to eating all of my points most weeks, some more than others, but I use at least half of mine and it makes a difference. I wasn't eating my flex points and I was seeing small losses, soon as my leader told me to eat some or all I saw a difference. All you can do is try it for a week and see the results, if it doesn't work for you than you only lost a week, if it does, I am sure you will be very happy!

On an unrelated side note, I noticed where you are from, I was born in Bayshore and my sister graduated from HS in Islip or it could have been West Islip! I moved away many years ago, but I still have some relatives on the island.

I'm down 1 lb. this week - not sure how it happened with all of the chocolate I was craving - but I'll take it. I'm back on track this week. Our leader had us set a 5 week goal of where we want to be by Valentine's Day - mine is to lose 5 lbs. I only have 15.6 to go which I hope to do by my birthday in April - my long term goal.

I hope everyone has a good week!

Congratulations on the loss Mikamah! I heard my leader tell someone in the group once, that all you really needed was to stay on track for 4 days and you would see a loss. Maybe I should try!

CarolA and KJo welcome back! Congratulations on your success so far. I haven't been here long. But I really look forward to hearing from everyone!

Kathinowa- thanks for answering my question. I really need to get more exercise in. My kids aren't in school yet and they are always hanging on me and bugging me when I'm trying to exercise. I've also tried not eating all my 35 and eating all my 35 and I've never seen a difference for me. I actually did really good the first week I did core. Maybe I'll try it again next week.

Congratulations Knovak! I'm always happy with 1 lb loss. I bet my leader will say make a goal for Valentines too. She was really focused on all the holidays that just passed.

Keep up the good work everyone!

Kim, I am so surprise, but I guess you are at a lower weigh than I am so your 2# weight is lower....but gosh 18 PTS, I think I wouldn't be able to make it. I am refusing to go to my 21 PTS, 18 would put me over the edge.
Tell me about it Debbie!!! I was NEVER at 18 pts before - WHY NOW?! :confused3 New program???

Trust me, I CAN'T DO 18 pts, and this is WW experience of 3+ years now! It's downright painful and I KNOW HOW TO DO THIS! Flex points are HUGE now!!!

I have exercised (with Leslie ;) ) 5 of the last 6 days tho. Hoping that helps. :confused3

I need some re-adjusting, I think.

HANG IN THERE, EVERYONE!!! WW DOES WORK, I SWEAR!!! :cheer2: :thumbsup2

Tiggerlover: Thanks for the advice. I was answering a question someone had asked me about my weight loss. I do know you are supposed to eat at least some of the flex points. But I'm not in the low range of points yet so I am getting enough to eat. If I was down to 21 (or 18!!) points per day, I know I would be using my flex points.

OT: I'm born and raised in West Islip except for a year or so I lived in Rochester after getting married. Small world, huh?

Can I join in too? I have been going to meetings for what seems like forever, off and on. I made 52 lbs. a little before Thanksgiving and did not manage to stay on program over the holidays. I actually am now at 41.8 pounds. A pretty hefty gain for the "holiday of eating" season. I am back on track now, but really having a hard time with the motivation. I have been reading your posts and that is helping. I bought the new cookbook and had my kids pick out two recipes each for the week. They love to cook, so maybe it will inspire me. I know for a fact that eating at home is my key to success. I just get too busy that I take the easy road and pick up or go out. In March we are going on the Disney cruise and I had made myself a goal of 90 pounds before then (back in September) and I really thought I would be able to make it, but now I had to rethink my goal and make it less. I am hoping to be back at 50 by Valentine's Day and then another 10 by the cruise on the 9th of March. Wish me luck.

Welcome I'mwong!

Congratulations on your weight loss to date! I know you're disappointed with your gain but you are so much lighter than a year ago!

You are going to love this thread. The posts are so encouraging and movitating.

Wow! I'mwong you are an inspiration. Even with a little setback, what a wonderful loss you've had. Congratulations!

Looking forward to seeing you here!

I go to WW tomorrow after work. I had to switch to an evening meeting. I hope I lost SOMETHING. . . anything would be good!

Welcome I'mwong, and congratulations on your weight loss. Like Kathinowa said you are still 41 pounds lighter than you were, and this is a great place to find inspiration and motivation. You seem to have set good goals for the next two months. Good luck to you.

Fofinia- you were talking about flex points. I wish I had as much restraint as Kathinowa does and had her weekly losses. When I follow program, I pretty much use all my flex points and many weeks more. I have had a loss every week that I stay within my points. Actually, looking back and thinking back, if I journal every bite I eat, even if I go over my flex points a little, I lose weight. If I stop journalling and counting, I must go way over my points and don't lose or gain. When I exercise, I use the activity points too. My loss has been slow, but I know why.

IwantmyDVC- Good luck at weighin tomorrow.

Keep up the great work everyone.

Thanks for all the encouragement. I need all I can get! Last night we made shrimp scampi that was really good. It came out of a cookbook that I had bought at Walmart put out by WW called 5 ingredients 15 minutes or less (or something like that). It was super easy to make and my family really liked it. Quite a good flavor and you get quite a bit too. I served with frozen green beans that I sauteed and some angel hair pasta. My son (7) even made a desert from the cookbook. It was 5 points and I am not sure it was worth it, but it made my son happy to make it. Problem is it made 8 servings, and there are only 5 of us (with MIL who lives with us) so that means tempting left overs!

Everyone have a great day! IWantMyDVC...hope the weigh in went well!

I lost 7 pounds this week for a total of 67.6 lost!

I started WW one year ago today, and am now very very close to goal!

(my personal goal is less than my WW goal, however since I set my lifetime goal at the top of the WW range for my height)

chamonix: AWESOME! That is fabulous! 7 lbs in one week! That definitely would make me do the happy dance!
:dancer:
Congratulations on your success!

thanks guys, I am pretty happy today!! Dh has been calling me "Little Ms. Results Not Typical" LOL!!

I did want to say that I rarely eat my flex points, nor my activity points. I wanted to maximize my weight loss, plus I figure I eat a couple "extra" points anyway (miscalculating, mismeasuring, forgetting something I ate, etc) so use the flex points and activity points as a "cushion" for that.

Onward and downward!! :goodvibes

Tomorrow is my WI day. I am hoping for a big loss. I have decided that instead of looking at the bigger picture, wher I need to lose 80 pounds, I am setting small 10 pounds goals. When I reach my goal of 10 pounds, I will set another goal of tem pounds, ect.

Ten pounds is much easier to lose than 80!

AMEN!

I think that's one of the keys. If you look at 80 you feel so overwhelmed, but 10 is doeable. Plus remember each 10 lbs makes a definite increase in your health!

Congrats to all our losers.

:welcome: I'mWong, good to have you on board. Be proud of what you have lost to date, that is fantastic.

WAY TO GO chamonix!!! 7 pounds is fabulous!!!!!
