Tiggerlover- You have the best attitude. It definitely is about living healthier and not depriving oneself. It would be great for the weight to fall off faster, but I know it wouldn't stay off. Learning to live and eat in moderation is key.
Slow and steady wins the race. Enjoy the holidays. You're already below your holiday goal!!! Whoo hoo!!

mikamah, I think attitude has a lot to do with it and it helps to be positive to lift others around you up. I could use some of that positive today, I am struggling. We have food in every corner of my workplace and it is getting harder and harder to resist. This week we had a platter filled with goodies, a box filled with cookies, a chocolate, chocolate cake, chocolate covered almonds, candy mints and a basket of fruit. I have been challenged by seeing it, smelling it and just dreaming of devouring it!!! Today I had 1 bite of the cake and a banana from the fruit basket.....but I was still wanting more. I resisted, but I know it is just going to get worse with all the food coming through the office....yikes!!! I know what I should do, but it is like I have the little white angel in my head on one side telling me to be good and the little red devil in there saying EAT IT!!!! Arrrrghhhh!!!!

Okay, thanks for letting me vent. Back to our regular thread now!

Hey Tiggerlover. Stay strong!!! You can get through these holidays, and maintain as you planned. And kudos to you for just looking and smelling and only dreaming of devouring everything. That takes strength and determination. Your little angel conscience will win this battle!! We also have tons of junk at work. I indulged in about 6 sugar cookies the other day. I'm not looking forward to working the weekend. I've been pretty good when I'm home lately. I baked cookies to bring to my son's preschool party tonight, and only ate 4. (which is good for me). Hang in there!!!! We can do it!!!!! :cheer2:

OK, had my weigh in yesterday morning and I'm down another 2.4 pounds. That brings me to a total of 26!!! I can't believe I actually lost this week. With the cocktail party last Saturday and the many luncheons this week I didn't think I would lose. So I was totally psyched! So if you have an off day or a day that wasn't totally on program, it pays to get back on as soon as you can.

Good luck everyone on the upcoming week!

Congrats Stacerita!!! Losing that amount a week is great, but doing it in December is awesome!!!! Keep up the great work.

mikamah, I am trying to stay strong, but it is SO HARD! I do have to say I am proud of myself, this weekend I baked 20 dozen cookies (all gifts) and I only at 1-1/2. DH and DS were complaining because I was giving them all away, but out of sight out of mind! I did promise to make them some come the weekend though. But the food at work is insane this week and it is only Monday. We had a pecan ring, cookies, homemade truffles and peanut butter balls, assorted candy and bless someones heart they brought in a huge fruit platter. So smelled the chocolate (the wrapped ones of course) and I made me two bowls of fruit, one for today and one for tomorrow. :) But I do find myself thinking how nice it would be to eat some of these goodies, in fact I know I am losing it as I was driving home from work tonight I passed Burger King and smelled the food and had a moments thought of binging...lol, and I am not even a big BK fan! I have decided if I can keep resisting that I will treat myself Christmas Eve and Christmas day.

Anyway, good luck everyone. My weigh in is tomorrow so I will post again. Onward and downward!

Congratulations Stacerita!!!! You are on an awesome roll. Keep it up!!!!

Tiggerlover- You are doing so great. I did just the opposite of you. I ate a cupcake, 3 Lindt balls, 4 chocolate bells, and two cheese and crackers at work today. There is too much junk there. You're so much better off not having any. It seems once I start picking, I can't stop. I'm off tomorrow, thank god, and am going to a WW meeting and hope to get remotivated. But then I need to start my Christmas baking, which I love to do. I need to plan my menu for Christmas eve which I have at my house. I'm going to try and have a few healthy choices, as some other family members are also doing WW. Keep up the great work. You should definitely treat yourself on Christmas eve and Christmas for resisting all month long!!!!!! Good luck at weighin tomorrow!!!!

Have a great week everyone!!! We can lose it!!!!!

I weighed in today and am down .8, and exactly where I was the week before thanksgiving, and my vacation. I'm feeling pumped and motivated to stay in control through the holidays. I would love to maintain this next week.

Tiggerlover-Hope your weighin went well today.

Good luck everyone as you get ready for the holidays.

mikamah, congrats, .8 isn't so bad, especially since you had some struggles at work. All and all it is pretty good considering the goodies you had. Hang tough, this is one of the toughest times of year, we CAN do this!!!!

My weigh in was good, although I fell a little short of what I wanted. I lost 1.2 this week, was hoping for 1.4 so I could get my 10%, but I was .2 short. But it will come and 1.2 isn't shabby.

Hang in there everyone....onward and downward!!!! :cheer2:

Just back from my weigh-in. After only losing .8 last week (with doing nothing differently) I am happy to report I'm down 4.2 this week. 35 pounds are gone since starting this journey in September. I still have a long road ahead of me, but I do believe I can do it this time around. I'm starting my cookie baking today so this week-end will be extremely difficult for me but I'm going to drink a lot of tea (hoping this will keep me from eating) and hope for the best. No gains this week!

Have a great week everyone.

I weighed in on Wednesday and was down 0.8. Kind of disappointing - but at least I didn't gain!!

How does everyone like the "new" plan - did it mess with your number of points? I got 1 additional point, but my DH went from 33 to 40!!

Wowzer!!!! That is an awesome weekly lost, congrats to you. And what a great way to start a holiday weekend....gives you some cushion room...lol. Keep up the great work!

You are right, at least it wasn't a gain and .8 is close to being a pound!!! Any loss is a good loss so congrats to you!!!

I weigh in the day after Christmas and I am absolutely dreading it! We had our office luncheon this week, we went out to an Italian place for Christmas Eve dinner and tomorrow is Christmas.....all before weigh in. I know I have been good this whole season and I am treating myself, but I still dread WI!!! lol

Happy Holidays all!!!!

Merry Christmas everyone.

Hope you are all enjoying yourselves, and not feeling bad if you are off program. I know I am. These holidays only come but once a year. I love to bake, and have been indulging the past couple days. I had my family over tonight for Christmas eve, and have packed up most of the leftovers to take to work tomorrow. After work I'll be going to my brothers but will miss the appetizers which will help. Plus I won't be drinking tomorrow. I had a few Captain Morgan and Egg Nogs tonight. I split the fat free egg nog with regular egg nog, and it tasted great, but thinking about it now, I never figured out the points. Oh, well. It's Christmas!!!!!!

Tiggerlover- Glad you are enjoying yourself and treating yourself. You do deserve it. You have been doing so great. Weigh in this week shouldn't count. I'm sure I will gain, but plan to get right back on track and lose it the next week. Have a wonderful holiday.

Kathinowa- Congratulations on that awesome loss!!!!!!!

IwantmyDVC- Congtrats to you on your loss. Losing is so hard at this time of year. Hang in there.

Happy Holidays!!!!:santa:

Happy day after Christmas!!! I hope everyone had a nice holiday, whether it was Christmas, Hannukah or another celebration. I had a lovely weekend and did my indulging and was happy that I didn't deprive myself. However in reflecting back the food was good, but it wasn't anything I haven't had before. It is funny how wonderful food brings back wonderful memories! I weigh in tonight so we will see what kind of damage was done, but I am not stressing over it. I thought about skipping the weigh in tonight, but then thought I made a decision to enjoy and I need to stick with my weigh in and face whatever it may be. Today is a new day, as is tomorrow and the next day and there is plenty of time to lose the remaining weight, Christmas only comes but once a year. Will check back with you all later. Hope you are having a great day!!!

HI everyone! I just found this thread and thought I'd join. I've been doing WW for 26 weeks and I'm down 20 lbs. I hit my 10% two weeks ago. Some of you have awesome weight losses. Congratulations!! How do you do it? I'm psyched if I can hit 1lb in a week. And I seem to lose one week and then maintain the next. I can't seem to lose two weeks in a row. But still sticking it out. My little sister is going with me and she has lost 30lbs. I go on Weds., tomorrow and I'm really hoping for a loss this week.

Good luck to all!!

Well, weigh in is over, thank goodness for that and as I suspected I had a gain, but it was only 4 ounces, so I am not complaining. The last three days I have eaten my share and someone elses and I was planning for at least a one pound gain and I am very happy with what the scale says. Now it is back on track!!!

Hi fofinia, welcome to the WISH boards! Congratultions on your success with WW to date, that is great! I am at 23 weeks for my second time around with WW and I am 1/2 pound away from my 10%. It takes me longer to lose than some here, but I am told that is because I am closer to my goal weight, so I am wondering if you are getting close too. My first time on WW I lost over 60 pounds and it came off quicker in the beginning and a lot slower towards the end. I hope you will come around often, there is a great group here for support and advice.

Had my weigh in on saturday and I didn't do as well as I thought I would. But I know I shouldn't have hoped for so much since I had a couple of extras that I normally don't. So I am happy to say that I am down another 1.6 pounds for last week. I am happy with the loss, but I was hoping for more. And then after this weekend I dont' know if I will have any loss at my next weigh in. So I'm at a total of 27.6 pounds so far.

Good luck to all those weighing in this week!!

Thank you for the welcome tiggerlover. I don't really think I'm that close to goal. According to WW guides I need to lose 32 more pounds to get to the range for my height and age. Is that close? I think personally I'm going to stop in 20 lbs. But we'll see.

Congratulations Stacerita! Way to go!

I weighed in today and was up .4. But I could just kick myself. I weighed myself at home yesterday and was down 2 lbs. I was psyched. But then wasn't feeling well and the only thing that sounded good was chinese food. I didn't overeat or go over on my points, But I know the salt killed me. When I woke up I couldn't spin my rings. And that is unusual for me the last few weeks I've been able to take them on and off no problem.

Anyway, my own stupidity. I'm going to be really good this week and maybe I'll do a double loss next week. That would be a new thing.

Glad to be here. Keep it up everyone!!!

I went to WW today and got weighed in. I am up THREE pounds. I thought I would go up a little or maybe stay the same - I definitely was not prepare for that!:confused3

Congrats Stacerita, that is a great loss, especially with the holidays around us. Keep up the great work!!

fofinia, I guess it depends on what number you are going by for WW. I am still 15 pounds away from the high end of WW, but I got a note from my doctor because she thought their weight ranges were not reasonable for my age and body. So as far as my doctor's note I am 5 pounds away from goal, as for my personal goal I still have 7 pounds to go. Not sure if I will ever make it to WW high end, but am not too concerned about that. I think the slower you lose it the better chances you have of keeping it off, there is nothing wrong with slow and steady.

IWantMyDVC, I am sorry about your gain, but I would chalk it up to the time of year and just start the day like it is your first one again. Can't beat yourself up over the past, just look to the future and next week will be better. Hang in there, I know the frustration, but I always use a gain as motivation for the next weigh in.

Stacerita: Down 1.6 pounds is great this week. I too get disappointed with a loss when it's not what I expected. Remember, a loss is a loss.

IWantMyDVC: I know you're disappointed with your weigh in. I'm expecting to be up on Friday as well. Maybe you're carrying excess water this week. Have a great week and you'll see big results next time.

Of course I ate too many cookies on Christmas Eve/Day but I'm back on track and hoping for good news on Friday's weigh-in. The kids are home so I can't do as much exercising tomorrow as I normally would but it is what it is.

Have a great week everyone!
